Wieters is worthless at the plate. The guy might have an arm, but he sucks at the plate. He's the biggest offensive hole in the Oriole lineup. They need a catcher that hits .270.

They've got to trade him.

line-up is terrible...i havent seen a dominant outing from an oriole pitcher like this in God knows how long...and our bats never made it tothe ball park...they allowed parker off the hook in 2 innings where he didnt even throw 10 pitches and 3 others where he threw less than 12

Jones needed to lift the ball into the outfield. Not hit into a ground ball. The guy just doesn't command the plate.

Fair point... but it wouldn't have mattered if the score were 3-1 before the home run. Sure, O'Day did fail here; what I meant to say was that a larger proportion of the blame has to go to the offense.

I would actually put in 3 pinch-hitters here if I were Buck... since no one was hitting anything today. (Yes, I do realize that there's the DH issue. But it should have been Flaherty playing 2B and Roberts playing DH if they appear in the same game.)
