This is something I want to consider bringing back next year. We basically removed it because of one player. Years have gone by where I feel that was a rare circumstance now. Thoughts?
I think the Jace Amaro thing was the year before I joined because I remember hearing a bunch about it the next year...
I think the eligibility issue is something to consider. Especially in some of these air raid offenses, there are guys who might be listed as a TE and have never put a hand in the ground once. I guess we can just do the same thing we do with RB/WR debates and default to ourlads, but it seems even more ambigious with TE vs. WR in some offenses.
That said, I don't mind bringing them back, but I would say that it should be a hard rule that if they're defined on ourlads as a TE, they have eligibility regardless of how they're used. And guys on teams that are listed without a TE (Washington St for example) won't have eligibility even if that's how the team defines them. Just makes it easier to avoid eligibility stuff.
I'm in for it. I think they pretty much get caught in the wash right now. It's an odd position for fantasy but I think it will add to the overall strategy of the game.
I would recommend like I did before, bump up reception points for the TEs. This gives a normally dead position have some juice. If you're lucky enough to get a Jace Amaro then that's good on you. We didn't ban Air raid team QBs because they threw off the curve for a bit.
After the Lynn Bowden scam last year it’s better to have no tight ends and fewer controversies because it showed not everyone in the league is honest in these matters. Going off of our lads who updates like once or twice a year.....
