We did upgrade our lineup. In a pretty big way.

Porcello or Archer?

LOL you call signing some guy from a league that isn't even at AAA quality level a big upgrade? Guys like Adam Wilks pitch in Korea... The Korean league is hot trash. LOL.. big signing.

???

What does this have to do with the Tigers signing Upton?
That is what I said.... The guy is attacking me because the Twins big signing is some guy from a scrub league in Korea.

*pretty big.

And yes. I'm pretty sure even if he doesn't reach his projected .266 27 and 83 numbers it will still make for a vastly improved lineup over what Vargas and Hunter gave us.

So yeah, pretty big

I would say his realistic numbers are probably around .280 / 30 HR / 90 RBI.... Lot of money.. but who cares... not my money... Old man pizza has plenty of it and he can't take it with him.

Anyone wonder why the Twins were able to land the guy with a 4 yr 12 mil contract? Nobody else wanted the guy.

Very unpredictable, as he's got the talent/potential to put up monster seasons, but also might've peaked already (where there quite a bit of examples of guys who had their best years in their early/mid 20s but regressed in their late 20s).

True... However fans wind of paying for him as well, ticket prices, concessions, parking, etc.

I would rather pay $50 for a ticket to a team worth watching than pay $30 for a team in last place.

Yeah which is why I wouldn't think he'd get that kind of money

Upton had no lineup protection last year in San Diego... In Detroit the guy can be put in any number of places in the lineup and get strikes thrown. If he hits #2 like many are saying he is going to get so many strikes its not even funny hitting in front of miggy.

Very true. However, it would prevent me (at least) from going to as many games as I really would want to

I didn't project it lol. The "experts" did.

That's why I said if he happens to go anywhere close to it.

Him and Kang(pirates) had extremely comparable Korean numbers.
like i said.. look at the top pitches in the korean league.. temper your expectations.

There is an opt out after 2 years... and he is probably 80% to take it... maybe 90%. He will only be 30 and will have been hitting in front of miggy for 2 years.. look at the numbers torii hunter put up hitting #2 in front of miggy in 2013. Upton was projected mlbtraderumors to get a deal close to 147 mil.
