the tigers have 3 guys in their lineup older than 30.... 6 of them are 28 or younger.... so yeah.. that was a dumb comment.
Let's also remember you mentioned Miggy and Victor not all the kids 28 and younger...

minnesota.. sports mecca... lolSure is fun saying the Twins have won two World Series Titles since Detroit last won one...
LOL, looks like you've run out of things to say. Have a good night buddy...
do you just follow me around this site?he hasn't got to use those lines the last few years, he had to dust them off, well because they are just classics, lol.
Detroit's first is protected. The second first rounder is Washington's for Zimmerman, so Padres only get a 2nd round pick.Padres get a draft pick from the Tigers I believe, knew he was gone so at least they got something for him.
At least they got something for him, even if it's just a second round pick. I read last night that the Padres have 6 picks in the top 100, they really need to have a good draft. After years of poor draft picks, they're due for one.Detroit's first is protected. The second first rounder is Washington's for Zimmerman, so Padres only get a 2nd round pick.
But the Pads do have KC's pick.
It was just said like that to avoid confusion. Figured everybody knew that the pick that goes to the team receiving compensation comes at the end of the first (and in the case of SD, second) round by now.View attachment 78731
Detroit lose's those picks, yes. But Washington and San Diego each get a sandwich pick. The "former team" has not received the actual pick for years.
How could this post be read to mean anything other than what it says?Detroit's first is protected. The second first rounder is Washington's for Zimmerman, so Padres only get a 2nd round pick.

How is it wrong other than the fact I didn't say the position because who could possibly give that much of a fuck lolHow could this post be read to mean anything other than what it says?
It isn't accurate in ANY way.How is it wrong other than the fact I didn't say the position because who could possibly give that much of a fuck lol
Ohh, alright. Didn't know they turned whatever picks into first rounders regardless. It isn't accurate in ANY way.
The Padres receive a 1st rounder for Kennedy (first pick in comp phase - currently #26) and a 1st rounder for Upton (currently #33)
The Royals lost their 1st rounder for signing Kennedy. The Tigers lost their 2nd rounder for signing Zimmerman and now their 3rd rounder for signing Upton. They still have their #1 (#9) which is protected.
I just think there should be a better chance to sign them long-term earlier. Once a guy hits free agency, he should be allowed to do as he pleases. The arbitration process makes it easy for both sides to see the benefit in forgoing any long-term deal.I like there being compensation. It tends to help the smaller teams.
Ultimately, I want teams to all have a better chance to keep "their" players. The QO system helps get to this, but it is not perfect.

Yes and no.that's what they want you to believe.
The system didn't help SD all that much losing upton. That's for sure.
This system has nothing to do with the myth that is "competitive balance." It's all about suppressing player costs.
