Not sure what the formula is, but the Networks can protect a certain number of games and that
number must be large because the games on NFL Network are always second tier.... but you
never know what you are going to get until you watch.

NY Jets @ New England
KC @ Philadelphia
SF @ St.Louis
Buffalo @ Cleveland
NY Giants @ Chicago
Carolina @ Tampa

Jets suck but Sanchez is the suckiest suck that ever sucked so watching him suck should be good.

Every single matchup spare the SF/St. Louis and NY/Chicago game will be snooze fests for me. All the other matchups have a crappy team on them. Actually Washington/Minnesota should be good if RG Knee is healthy.

These all look like they could be good or relevant. Not a bad ratio.

I think part of it is the networks, but part of it is also the nfl trying to continually expand their base. there are all sorts of games you can choose from on Sunday but there is almost only one game on Monday and Thursday. The NFL knows that they pretty much have a lock on football fans watching the game on those nights no matter what the matchup and no matter what games some people claim they won't watch. They then get to showcase teams that aren't as popular in hopes that the exposure makes them more so.

Bottom line: we all can say we have preferences but show me a poster that says he won't watch an nfl game when its the only one on and I will show you someone that really isn't seriously a fan of football.

Tampa swept the Panzers last year, and we got shellacked by the Giants on our Thursday night game last year, so I hope there's some trend reversal pronto. That first game there is very interesting.

The only thing I like about it is every team plays on Thursday, so people like Jim Harbaugh can't use some coastal bias excuse as to why their schedule is harder.

I don't mind the matchups. Even though they aren't the best, Thursday's are usually the appetizer before the main course on Sunday.

Not too bad overall. Five of the elven are divisional games. Reid's return to Philly is a big story and there are some good players on both teams. NYG at Chicago is a nice matchup for history buffs. Bengals at Phins features some good young players. RGIII and AP in the same game is worth watching. Houston at Jacksonville should at least hold some interest for fans of those teams.

So the pats defense could even make a guy like sanchez look like a decent starting QB, is that your point?

Yeah you never know but just looking at that list, those 4 are the ones that interest me. The Niners should crush the Rams. The Texans should crush the Jags. I suppose Indy @Tenn and Carolina @ Tampa could be worthy. I'll probably watch them all, but they sure didn't come with the A matchups.

For some reason I don't watch too many Thurs night games, maybe because I like to back it up on the dvr and ff through the endless commercials, by the time I get there I have lost interest.

I do like the opener Jets/Pats and the KC/Phil game could be interesting with the Reid connection, RGIII vs AP should be interesting, SD/DEN late season could hold interest as well, if both are still in the hunt.

I don't like them. The teams are not both fully prepared and usually the more rested wins. Or if a team is at home in both the Sunday and Thursday games and get complacent after a Sunday win allowing the road team to win.
