Higher seeded team gets homefield advantage?

Why did they decide to do this instead of putting it somehwere like Candlestick Park or The Rose Bowl or Coliseum?

Can you imagine the PAC 12 title game in Pullman, Washington?

1.) The Pac-12 title game will never be played in Pullman, because the Cougs will never win the North.

2.) It is unique. Unlike any other CCG which is played at a neutral site. It rewards teams that go through the conference with a good record. Probably a good recruiting tool as well to tell a kid they could host the PAC title game at their own place.

Would have been there in 2002. It's very possible.

I was thinking its maybe more due to finacial reason. Could they sell out a CCG on the west coast?

I would hate it if the SECCG were played on one of the teams campuses. I like the neutral site.

The only reason I could assume is that it would give any california team a home advantage and maybe many of the teams fans don't travel well.

I like the ideal.

FYI, C-USA hasn't been doing this for a while.

This is temporary until they finally come up with a place that meets requirements

Southern California is not an option apparently since they didn't think there'd be much interest. They figured a home stadium would sell out.

This year they're right.

it smells like fear in here

pfft...

You know I knew someone would say that. Is it not stupid that a team with a losing record gets a chance to play a team that went undefeated in the conference for the conference championship? It's stupid. Not fear.

CCG's have to be up near the top of the dumbest things ever invented.

Give the PAC 12 a break, they're new at this new millenium championship game stuff.... I'm sure that they'll make it a neutral site in 20 or so years.

sounds like teams that can't actually win their conference games are clinging to this CCG as a last ditch try to steal a championship.

I smell weasel.

If a conference has two divisions where each team doesn't play each other it's perfectly fine to have the divisional champs play each other for the conference championship. But the Pac 12 did it this way because they know only a game at the higher ranked team's stadium would likely be a sellout. There is no way in hell they can guarantee a sellout any other way. It's the West Coast, people. Football out here is important but it's not life or death. If they used a neutral site thousands of fans would be camouflaged as empty seats.
