Hmmmmm, not sure where to start.

It was nice to see the defense turn it around after getting lit up early. That is a positive.

Other than that -- since I don't feel like being Mr. Negative right now -- I will just say -- a lot of Lions are "developing" right now, like the OL, the Offensive Coordinator, our draft picks from this year, etc.

That was a painful game to watch.

Brady is going to light up the Lions D. The offense better be ready to keep pace.

Not to be a Debbie Downer, but if the Lions play anything like they did today against the Pats -- it is going to be VERY ugly.

This game was over after the first drive of the game. 7 points woulda been enough. Not sure if New England will need 15 or 20, but something will have to change to hang with Tom Terrific n Cmpny next weekend.

1. Caldwell should have punted from the 50 rather than going for it on 4th and 2. There were over 6 minutes left.

2. I didn't like Caldwell's use of timeouts at the end. Zona would have had to run the 2nd down play before the 2-minute warning anyway. No reason to use up all of your timeouts before the 2 minute warning there. And that says nothing for the fact that it forfeits your ability to challenge a play with 2+ minutes left.

You, me, and Mckayla all agree on Caldwell's performance today. We are not impressed.

Add the AZ's ST guy's "possession" when falling into the end zone. I missed the 2nd half and just watched that crap on dvr. So if he'd tossed it and the ball didn't make it out of the end zone it still would have been Lions ball at the 1 ? It was essentially a dead ball/play over at that point ? I don't think so. I want to hear that one fully explained. They probably lose anyway. They needed 3 more FGs which is apparently all this offense is up to. But we're 10 games in and today is the first time I've been really pissed about the officiating. So that's a plus I guess.

That had to be the most fucked up call since Calvin's no-catch at Chicago. How many times have we seen a player that was falling into the endzone toss the ball back into the field of play, and the ball isn't dead until another player downs it? It could still end up in the endzone. And until the ball is downed, it's a live ball.

I can't wrap my head around how the officiating crew could possibly fuck that up. Oh well. There's always Jim Joyce.

You're exactly right. That's called "first touching" and the ball is still live at that point. Refs fucked that one up big time.

We still would have had to add a 2 point conversion, but yes, that was the worst call I've seen against us this year.

It is a judgment call as to whether the guy at the 1 held the ball long enough for it to be considered "possessing" the ball. But yeah, their judgment was WRONG.

Also got screwed on Mathis's illegal contact call. That's 4 big calls that went against us.

The spot calls and the fucking punt being ruled down pissed me off. None took points off the board though.

Just thought I would point out that the head of NFL officiating (ie the guy who now does what that idiot Perriera used to do) claims the officials made the correct t call on that punt. Which means to me, that 100 refs in 100 different games in the past have all fucked up. And since this isn't exactly a unique play (the running the ball by Ross was, but "possessing" a punt for .5 seconds before batting/throwing it back into play is not uncommon at all) so it will be interesting to see if like the Calvin "process" rule, all refs will start to call it this way.
