I don't think there should be any big surprises here. I think we knew the D and turnovers enabled the win in week 1.

Down 17-0 and 20-0 to start both games. Offense way to slow out of the box. Not much of anyone played great yesterday, some okay .... 2nd half McLaurin was awesome.

I think for the most part we are where we thought they would be.

Haskins is young and still developing. I see potential and I see flaws. Hopefully they can be corrected. We need help at OLine, WR and TE.

Winner winner! Good to see the guys continue to fight when so far down - likely woulda just checked out in previous years. This begs the question of the errors that allowed such a quick start for Arizona. Then, Too little, waaay too late in the second half. Frustrating.

I liked RRs comment that you can’t beat 2 teams and have a chance of winning: them and yourself.

i think we are a very young football team and lack of a real off season , pre season games are affecting this very young football team. . i like the fight this team has but you cant go down 17 to 0 and 20 to 0 and expect to win football games

add to it the FO turmoil and its a wonder RR can do anything (oh he has cancer too)

We're probably better than we thought we would be at this point since most of the so called experts would have had us 0-2. With that said, I don't know how long we will be able to keep saying that Haskins needs more time to develop unless we start seeing more of that development in the near future. We all know that NFL stands for 'Not For Long', right?

I think you play the year out and then assess. That goes for a lot of positions but especially QB. dad is correct in what he said, three head coaches and two OCs in less than a year. That would be difficult for many guys. He has a lot of responsibilities that we don't know how he is doing, i.e. making line adjustments. Talent on offense is limited. He has some flaws but he has some potential too. If at the end of the year things haven't approved and the team is in a position to get a top QB then you have to consider it. That is my opinion, the staff of the WTF might thing he should have more time that. It really depends on where you are drafting.

I was a staunch old timer saying you have to be a pro style QB but more and more with these younger QBs these guys that can move around, put pressure on the D with their legs but still make wise decisions and good throws as the way to go. Kyle Shanahan didn't invent the option offense we ran in Griffin's first year but now it is being used more and more in the NFL.

If Haskins cant move the ball against Cleveland, I think you have to really think about putting Allen in. this defense is too good to say this is a wasted year. An average QB can win with this team. Haskins is not even average right now.

You should know by now that I have always respected your opinion and I still do. I guess what I was trying to say however is that I'm just not seeing that growth in Haskins. I don't need to give you examples because you know who they are with rookie QBs starting their first NFL game who show potential even with a bad O-Line to protect them. I just don't see this in Haskins so far and he is not a rookie. Granted, he has had a lot of different offensive game plans thrown in his face during his short stay in Washington so far but I'm just not seeing him adapt properly to what is going on now. I really hope I will change my opinion soon.

i think he gets more then 9 games , maybe not 3 HC changes in a year , maybe not 3 OC changes in a year , maybe some talent at WR TE O/line before he is declared unfit . maybe an off season in a stable offense where he knows who will be coaching him ? geez its been 2 games and yes he is worlds away from being a franchise qb but dude the guy has like 23 starts in college and pro's combined . he has one TO in 2 games , his coach says he is making the right reads but he is rushing .

I agree that what we have seen so far is about the same as last year. He is the QB this year. That isn't going to change so I am going to support him. As mentioned in my earlier thread you assess at the end of the year. If he is in the same place he is right now AND you have a chance at a Lawrence or Fields then you have to seriously consider making that pick. I don't think Kyle Allen is any better so lets see what we have at the end of the year.

I will say this football being what it is they are probably fielding there best offense right now because injurie's have been minimal so far. Scherff is only going to miss a couple of games.

I am very intrigued by the difference in this team in the 1st half versus the 2nd half. It isn't just Haskins it is the defense too. It is like two different teams. I want to see if the coaches can get these guys to be more consistent at the start of the game.

I think its important to note that it’s been freakin’ GREAT to see that the coaching staff has made actual half-time adjustments that seem to work.

You all do remember how absolutely fucking terrible gruden’s teams were in the second half, right? Especially under manusky?!?!

baby steps...

I wouldn't be so quick to crown the defense just yet. They'll have their first true test this week against a team with a legitimate running back rushing attack in Cleveland. Who at present are 2nd in the NFL in team rushing with 353 yards. Nick Chubb has 184 of those yards at 5.75 yards a pop and Kareem Hunt has 158 yards at 6.87 a pop. After Cleveland comes the Ravens and we should have a clearer picture then if this year's D is indeed more stout against the run then the defense's of the recent past.

It's still early so the possibility that it clicks for him still exists, but FS may need to be added to the help list. While he certainly has the physical skill-set. Apke seems just a tick or two slow far as the mental aspect of the game goes. And I'm still not sure if it was Apke I read this about or not, but I did read about a present DB for Washington who takes bad angles. If that was about Apke and it's on point, that's a real bad trait for a FS to have.

I don't like him as a singe high safety which he is playing a lot. You need an experienced player to cover sideline to sideline. I am no JDR but those are my thoughts. He is probably going to play a lot of single high so they can bring Collins in the box. It could get ugly with the Browns receivers.

Sure we can beat the Browns and the Browns can beat us as well, that wasn't the point of my post. You seem to be implying we have a top notch defense already after 2 games in which said defense hasn't really been tested running-wise. I'm saying hold off on that proclamation of the defense being top notch because in the next 2 weeks, and actually 3 weeks playing the Rams after the Ravens. We'll have a far clearer picture on whether or not the run defense has improved.

Cuz if we can't defend against the run well. I don't care if we end up getting 65 sacks for the year with multiple players having a double digit sack season. We're gonna have problems overall stopping teams from moving the ball and scoring.
