Has failed to impress me. Had their not been so much hype about his speed, I would think he is a marginal runner. He has had a couple of decent runs, but that's about it. Very disappointed. I had high hopes.

On the other hand, Helu has looked great. He is quick, strong, and looks sharp.

So with that said, who will take the 3rd running back spot? I've actually thought Keiland Williams has looked pretty good. We know what we have in Royster.

What do you guys think?

i think you are way too hard on a 5th round draft pick making up for lost time with crawford gone he or skye dawson will be returning punts

royster offers dependability but he isnt a game breaker , while williams does run well and plays ST's

the question is do you keep the known guys or do you go with potential ?

It really hasn't mattered who is in the backfield. Every RB has done some good things. Something Shanahan's run game has been know to be for many years now.

From what I saw last night,

Morris, Helu, Williams, Thompson are our guys. I see us trading Helu sometime this season for a draft pick and Williams and Thompson will be just fine in our system.

The only reason I am hard on Thompson despite being a 5th rounder, is because I believe they want to keep him based solely on potential and not on production. And because of that, I am disappointed when I see the other backs running better than him.

I forgot about Jamison. Didn't see much of him...

There's no reason to keep rookies other than potential. None of them have produced anything in the NFL.

Our RBs will be Morris and Helu for sure. Thompson will make the team. Williams will not and Jamison will be on the PS. Royster being injured could cost him a roster spot.

thompson , at his best , offers game breaking speed . we dont have that

and again he is a 5th round pick , you take gambles there and hope something sticks

True enough. I really hope he can give us that spark on ST.

I suppose there is a chance that Keiland Williams could make it over Royster because of STs.

if they are kept it will be because they are dependable backs . royster is still young and williams is too for that matter

i think the skins want to keep thompson because he is a potential game breaker

but i see either way they go :suds:

20m Final roster will come in with 4 Tight Ends, 5 Wide Receivers & 4 Running Backs & 1 Fullback

Think this makes the most sense. Never thought we would keep 6 WR with the versatility we have at TE we can always split one. Other spots needed more on the defense.

Yeah, there's also not as much of a need for KR now that the league is phasing that out. Which is why I think it's much more likely for Thompson to take a roster spot as a 4th RB, change of pace back and he'll also most likely be our kick returner.
