The point nobody's making is that forget the player, it's fucking annoying to 99% of the asshole's fellow attendees. EVERYONE wants the douche bag to stfu. This should be nipped in the bud right away by officials put in place by the tour. It shouldn't be up to the players to enforce. The way things are going, it's only going to escalate.

It's a great group-think kind of thing for everyone to agree to be quiet and not interfere. That's ruined for everyone when one person interferes. Being allowed to be so close to the action is predicated upon fans being respectful. There are certain places where a certain hole or area is allowed to be rowdy and look how fenced back everyone is. It would really suck if that happened at all events.

I stood just a few paces away from Tiger Woods a few times and it's cool to be close.

So if you're the type to yell shit out at players, you're simply a colossal asshole.

He shouldn't but I don't think that was the case...correct me if I'm wrong, but the fan was more or less openly rooting for his competitor.

I'm guessing Thomas recognized that later and though maybe he over reacted himself a bit.

Although Thomas's apology seems sincere, following it up with rationale for why you did it nullifies the entire apology.

Getting a lot of comments on the fan incident yesterday. Sorry to any and all offended by it. There was more said as we walked to the tee wishing bad things on the course for myself or Luke. Then the get in the bunker comment over and over again I felt it was very understandable to have him escorted out. I never want to lose fans, or have people root against me. I just didn’t see a place for that particular person to be yelling at us things that weren’t necessary over and over again. I over reacted and should not have had him kicked out. I feel bad for it, but was more doing so because again I felt the stuff he was saying was completely unnecessary. I love all my fans and to hear that I’ve lost quite a few bc of that, isn’t fun. So I’m sorry to all the fans who support us all on TOUR and we are extremely lucky to have them each and every week. Thanks to all who came out and supported at @TheHondaClassic and continue to every week we play. We (I) love you guys.

That guy deserved to be ejected for shouting diatribes at Thomas... Most golf fans use proper etiquette at PGA Tour events. I don't blame Thomas for his actions.
