Patriots recentl rated as "no chance" for a Superbowl win this year? Duh!
That does not mean we cant be very good.
Talking heads see Miami, New York, and Buffalo competing for AFCE this year. Duh?
I see Buffalo and Miami's window closing.
I see Jets window refusing to open when Rodgers isn't the solution.

"Roger's is 40 and hasn't played in a real game in almost 2 years. He hasn't been in the playoffs in over 3 years and has won just 2 playoff games in his last 8 season. When are they going to stop over rating this guy. If he makes it through this season I'll be shocked. The Jets will be lucky to make the playoffs."

Quote Lindy's Pro Football 2024 Preview. (Sitting in front of me)

"Bills Insist Window Remains Wifde Open" Projected Finish '1' Josh Allen has the arm. Only questions is does he have any or enough WRs?
"Dolphins Focus On Winning The Division" Projected Finish '3' Can they do something they haven't done since 2000? Win a playoff game??
"Dawn of a New Era With Belichick's Departure" Projected Finish '4' The Defense is in place. Can they find an offense??Or an Offensive Line??
"Can Rogers Overcome Father Time?" 'Projected Finish '2' The key to everything rests with Aaron Rogers.

I don’t see the Pats competing for a playoff spot this year, you obviously never know what will happen in the season but the Pats look like clearly the weakest team in the AFC East. Unless Drake Maye has an amazing rookie year, I don’t think they can make the playoffs - they don’t have any standout weapons on offense, they don’t look terrible but they don’t have any stars either, and while their defense is decent it’s not enough to carry them to a playoff spot IMO. And I take it Brissett will start the season as the Pats QB, does anyone know if they plan for Maye to take over at some point this year? Because I sure don’t see Brissett getting this team to a playoff spot.
I think the Dolphins will win the AFC East - they have a very talented, dangerous team. They’ll need to be able to win on the road which can be struggle for them as they are a much better home team, but they have the best roster in the division IMO. The Fins should’ve won the East last year.
The Bills will be pretty good again although their receiving unit is a big question mark and they don’t look as strong as they have the past few years. They’ll have to rely on their defense and rushing game more because they have no top tier receivers, in fact their receiving unit looks like one of the NFL’s weakest to be honest.
The Jets are the team I have no idea what to expect from, if Rodgers still has some left in the tank they could be dangerous but if he struggles or gets hurt they will struggle again, you can’t win without solid QB play. Their D is very strong though and they could definitely be in playoff contention if Rodgers does okay.

Not trying to shit on the Pats fans hopes but it’s a lot to expect them to contend for the playoffs this year, they are rebuilding and I expect some offensive struggles.

You should be shitting all over our hope if we are tying any expectation with that hope.

Brissett is a capable QB. Mate will take over when he is ready.
Bills are regressing
Fins can’t beat winning teams.
Jets are the Jets. Rogers has won 2 playoff games in 8 years and now is rehabbing.- at 40.
Take your shot at NE like everybody else but we have reason to be hopeful.

Not trying to crap all over your hopes but I don’t agree - the Pats roster is clearly the weakest of the 4 teams in the AFC East IMO. Yeah the other teams all have some big flaws and question marks but the Pats have no offensive stars at all. The Fins have the best roster in the division IMO, it’s just a matter of whether they can stay healthy and win some on the road, the Bills have Avery talented QB in Allen and a good D although I agree they are weaker, and the Jets are kind of an unknown because who knows if Rodgers has anything left but they have a pretty good roster with a very good D.
Brissett is okay but there’s no way he can lead this Pats team to a playoff spot IMO. I just don’t see them being able to keep pace with the Fins, Bills and Jets. Each team in the division has holes and question marks but the Pats offense looks really weak, they have no standout players. Who knows how things will turn out but I don’t see the Pats having much of a playoff chance.

NE has a solid D, in fact all 4 teams in the AFC East have solid D’s it appears, Jets have the best IMO and it’s hard to tell who’s the best between the Pats, Fins and Bills, all are pretty good. But the Pats are going to have real trouble scoring, they have by far the worst offense in the division. The Fins have the best offense if Tua stays healthy, the Bills have a talented QB and a good rushing game, and the Jets have a few good offensive weapons although who knows what Rodgers will do. The bottom line is is that the Pats offense looks like one of the weakest in the NFL, and while their D is pretty good it’s not going to be enough to get them to the playoffs.

This is a new season. Pats are not going to win a superbowl but neither are the othe 3.
Pats have arguably the best defense in the AFCE , if not the NFL.
You have never seen this offense play.
Yourpoints are noted. Thank you for keeping it to football.

You think the Pats D is arguably the best in the NFL? That’s a very bold statement. I think the Jets have the best D in the division. The Pats D is good, although they could use another strong edge rusher to emerge other than Judon.
No one has seen this offense play, but they have no offensive stars, it looks very subpar all around.

I think the Fins can contend for the Super Bowl if they stay healthy and can win some on the road. The Bills still have a good team and can contend for the playoffs but I don’t think they’ll be a Super Bowl caliber team because of the receiving unit. Who the hell knows what to expect from the Jets - if Rodgers was somehow the Rodgers of old the Jets could be really strong but I highly doubt he’ll be the Rodgers of old - I really have no clue as to what to expect from the Jets.
But the Fins, Bills and Jets all can be playoff teams, and I just don’t see that from the Pats - Brissett is a mediocre QB, the O-Line looks weak, the receiving unit lacks any stars and the rushing game looks subpar.

Take a close look at the Patriots' D. The Jets finished high because they had the CBs that could cover, but couldn't stop a high school run game.
Dolphins and Bills were lower than the both the Patriots and the Jets.

Jets' D will be good again but their O is completely and totally dependent on a 40 year old QB who tore an Archille's tendon and then against MD's orders, didn't wear his boot like he was instructed. The Jets lost a few of their front seven, as did the Fins and Bills. Patriots O is an unknown and we won't know what they can do until September.

You should be going to church and saying prayers for your old QB, Cousins.

Without Football or even basketball, weekend television is sucking big time.

Wimbledon and golf are interesting, but just can't hold my attention for more than five minutes.

Have been watching some old Super Bowls that have been showing on NFL Network, but it's hard to watch even the best games like SB XXXV with the Packers and Steelers. We'll finally have some football starting August 10. It's going to be a very long 31 day wait.

Florida television stations suck at broadcasting any sports, regardless of what might be available. I do sorely miss the Boston stations.

Back to the AFCE..........

There's myriad of opinion about the AFCE. That's because it's mystery right now and no one has a real answer.

Buffalo seems to be the team that has the best QB, but they traded their best WR to the Texans and allowed the next best to just walk away. They did draft Keon Coleman, who they hope will at least fill part of the hole left by Stefon Briggs and Gabe Davis. With Josh Allen's powerful arm and ability to run, they appear to be the favorite to win the AFCE. And most likely lose in the Divisional Round.

Miami has an absolute ton of talent. Too much? Tua can't quite seem to get all of eggs in one basket. He leads the team on a streak in one direction or a different one. With Hill and Waddle outside and Achane at RB, it's decisions, decisions, decisions and making the right one. If the Dolphins can get their act together, they could run the Chiefs into the ground and be a Super Bowl contender.

New York seems to be on the edge. Every year. Most of the timer it's been the edge of a cliff and they've fallen over it. They're back on the edge again and this time it's a razor blade. It'll be extremely tough for them not to press too hard and slash themselves. As has been previously mentioned, everything hinges on Aaron Rogers making a comeback at age 40. If he does, he might be Comeback Player of the Year and the Jets might make the playoffs for the first time in 13 years.

New England is the biggest mystery. A new HC and an unknown offense. Jerrod Mayo will have to be given some leeway as he learns to maneuver the position. His OC his a history of somehow being able to work a semi-West Coast offense and keep his team functioning. He also has a positive history of working well with rookie QBs. Another Patriots' mystery.

BK's Synopsis (Reserve the right to change in September 2023)

1. Miami 12-5
2. New York 11-6
3. Buffalo 9-8
4. New England 6-11

The Jets have already destroyed their prospects for this year.
They have come out and predicted a Superbowl win - not happening!

Very good analysis and insight. I agree with most of what you said.

I am predicting the Fins to win the division, like you say they have a ton of talent, they need to be able to stay healthy and win on the road some. The Fins offense is extremely explosive, one of the NFL’s best.

The Bills have a strong QB in Allen and a pretty good defense, but it’s very concerning that they have no standout receivers and are relying on a rookie to be their #1 receiver - the AFC is loaded with good offenses and the Bills don’t look up to par.

The Jets have a really good D and some good offensive weapons, but who knows if Rodgers has anything left in the tank. And I just don’t trust the Jets.

The Pats offense looks subpar, there’s a lot of unknown there though, the Pats D is good but overall they look like the weakest team in the division. I’m curious as to whether Maye will start at some point and whether any receivers emerge as standouts, like I say there’s some unknown stuff there but on paper the Pats O looks pretty weak.

Again, very good analysis.

Did the Fins not have an "extremly explosive offense" last couple of years?
It's not working. They have had trouble beating winning teams and any team late in the season.
So this is the year? Sounds a lot like the Jets and the Bills........

They made the playoffs both years. Injuries derailed them both times - they almost beat the Bills in 2022 in the playoffs though with Skylar Thompson at QB, and last year they had a slew of injuries down the stretch that prevented them from winning the division and they had to go to Arrowhead to face the Chiefs in the playoffs and the Chiefs went on to win the Super Bowl. I would hardly call the last two seasons for the Dolphins failures - they’ve had good teams and should be a good team once again. Plus the Bills look weaker this year, the Jets are untrustworthy and unknown and I don’t see the Pats competing for the division crown unless their O somehow becomes a lot better. So I think the Fins will win the division. But who knows at this point how things will turn out really.

All makes sense - if you live in Florida.
I'm not much for perennial excuses!
