Nebraska announces departures, including QB Johnny Stanton | CollegeFootballTalk
You can scratch Johnny Stanton off the Nebraska depth chart at quarterback. Stanton was among the players confirmed to no longer be a part of the Huskers program Thursday by the university, as he has chosen to transfer to a new football program for the 2015 season.

“Johnny Stanton informed me this afternoon that he has chosen to transfer to another institution to continue his college career,” Nebraska coach Mike Riley said in a press release (via Omaha World-Herald. “Johnny is an outstanding young man and we wish him the very best moving forward.”

Stanton was a three-star recruit in Nebraska’s Class of 2013, according toRivals. Last season, behind incumbent starter for 2015 Tommy Armstrong(and sophomore Ryker Fyfe), Stanton appeared in just two games, in which he completed his only pass completion for a gain of six yards.

In addition to the loss of Stanton, Nebraska has also confirmed wide receiverGlenn Irons is no longer a part of the program as well.

Notre Dame RB Greg Bryant reportedly will be suspended for September | CollegeFootballTalk
With Everett Golson in Tallahassee andMalik Zaire the Captain Jack Sparrow of the offense, Notre Dame should be expected to run the ball quite a bit this fall. Rising junior running back Greg Bryant won’t be a part of that equation in September.

The former five-star recruit will be suspended likely for the first four games of the season, according to Irish Illustrated’s Pete Sampson. Irish247 first reported Bryant’s suspension and the four-game ban.

If Bryant’s suspension — which has not been announced by Notre Dame — is indeed for four games, he’d miss Sept. 5 vs. Texas, Sept. 12 at Virginia, Sept. 19 vs. Georgia Tech and Sept. 26 vs. UMass. The first game in which he’d be eligible to play would be a pivotal matchup against Clemson Oct. 3 in South Carolina.

I put this here, because there was no place really on NFL boards, no place here on our boards really...But was always a story that stuck with me, as a man who I thought showed true bravery and courage.

Randy Edsall lands three-year extension from Terps | CollegeFootballTalk
A couple of years ago, it appeared that Randy Edsallmight not make it to Year 3 at Maryland. After a pair of (relatively) successful seasons, he now has some additional “job security.”

In a press release, Maryland announced that Edsall has signed a three-year contract extension. The new contract would technically keep Edsall with the Terps through the 2019 season.

2020 Alabama vs TBD

IT was already announced Alabama would play in either 2019 or 2020, so with the Auburn announcement that pretty much guarantees it will be 2020, unless they've agreed to other arrangements in the past week.
If its not Oregon, Oklahoma, or Ohio State, it better be somebody decent we haven't played in a while. But we have revenge games to take care of now. And of course the seemingly evasive Alabama-Oregon matchup.

Penn State, TCU, UCLA, Georgia Tech, Nebraska, Louisville, North Carolina are all teams I wouldn't mind Alabama playing sometime soon. Heck throw in a Boise State or Northern Illinois in there too.
