Since we are confessing - I once dated Farah Fawcett's 1st cousin - for the sole reason that she was Farah Fawcett's 1st cousin. I'm a better person now - or I have a lower T count.
Did you love her?

I was not remotely interested in her personality - I had DNA on my mind. Later she ended up working at the enterprise and department I worked in and we became non-romantic friendly work associates. She really is good people.Did you love her?

So, on NFLN, they have this running theme of a nerd who knows Fantasy football. One spot has him sitting on a bench, and someone comes up and says, "You can't win a Super Bowl without a first-round quarterback." The nerd then says, "Have you ever heard of Kurt Warner or Bart Starr?" Then, he mentions the punky quarterback Jim McMahon. However, Jim was a first-round quarterback.
I also see the assistant HC of the Det Lions is Scottie Montgomery who started here.
Have to think him going to Colorado came with promises that Sanders is sticking with Colorado instead of jumping ship to the NFL.
Oh for sure. The story of Tommy Tuberville leaving a dinner where he had a bunch of recruits for a phone call and never coming back because he accepted the job at Cincinnati comes to mind.Meh it is college football, no matter what a coach or player can switch in the blink of a penny drop.
A lot of people were surprised when Kirk Ferentz didn't bolt away from Iowa in his coaching prime... He knew what he was doing financially... A lot less pressure at Iowa then going to an elite program. Would you rather make good money at an institute in which you are likely to stay as long as you want at because of your success or would you rather take more money yearly but good chance you survive a lot less years because of the pressure? In the end you make more money anyway because your job security is better at a school that is just happy to be successful and not expect to win a National title every year.
Prime example would be Gene Chizik. Did well at Iowa State. Bolted for Auburn for more money. Won a title, gone 2 years later to be forgotten about. He would probably still be at Iowa State if he had wanted to with the expectation he wins 7-8 games a year. 7-8 wins at Auburn consistently won't cut it.
