One year commitment and $10 MM (and once Grant left they really didn’t have much choice). Versus 3 years and $60 MM for Grant. I’ll vote for the Grant one being worse in the long run.

Andrew Beck will be returning soon. Not sure about Butt. As much as I like Jake Butt coming out I would keep Fumagalli over him. I have always liked Fumagalli and he shows separation when called upon.

Yes, Albert O is a keeper but he is on IR for the rest of the season so he isn’t going to help us this year. None of our tight ends help on special teams. Not sure Butt will even be activated off IR this year. Feels more like the team pet who we want to see succeed but may not.

So let's count up all the IR time the Broncos have had for the TE position and ask ourselves - is this just bad luck? Or, is it the trainer's room? The Broncos have almost always been blessed with good training staff, but I will continue to say - there's something wrong with the current group.
