that level of awareness is just unbelievable. I was awe-struck back then, and still am.
how many people pass up a shot from between the hashmarks, because not touching it is a better play.

just wow.

I remember thinking that as well when it happened. to watch him track the puck with his head knowing exactly what was going to happen. just brilliance.

As an aside, does Joe Sakic get enough credit for how good of a hockey player he was?

another 100 milestone today.
I can't find the tweet, but for the next 20 years, only four players ever scored 100 over TWO consecutive games combined

Only two players in NHL history have unassisted hat tricks. Maurice Richard and Rick Nash.

10 years prior to WIllie O'Ree, but seems to be forgotten.
perhaps because it was just 1 game, O'Ree had 45 games

It's always a good sign when you captain leads the NHL in penalty minutes. Also nice to see some Ron Hogarth highlights.

I remember seeing that on the nightly sports highlight show and the sportscaster was visibly shaken.

Ten years ago today.

Some say she is still singing inside the arena. And Karlsson is still laughing.
