am i just really biased or are these refs making VERY questionable calls? some i've been alright with, really both of the 5on3 calls were legit.. but the too many men and this one on lilja.. the interference on rinaldo.. not sure on those..

From an article last year on the Spokane Chiefs/Tri-City Americans rivalry:

A dispute that will never die. Game 7 of that 1995 semifinal in Kennewick went to overtime, and the Chiefs thought they’d won when Sean Gillam’s shot from just inside the blue line bounced off Ams defenseman Ryan Brown’s shinguard and into the net. The Chiefs erupted in celebration and dogpiled Gillam, but referee Mike Hasenfratz insisted the puck had been directed in by a skate and waved off the goal. TV replay proved him wrong later, but there was no consolation for Spokane when Terry Ryan scored for Tri-City minutes later.

“That was the last year of the Coliseum,” Speltz remembered. “We came back and got off the bus and players are thinking that somebody’s going to do something because they were wronged – and already the ice is out and the building is being torn down. They knew it was final then. That wound is still there for me.”

Definitely one of the worst hockey moments ever for me. That wasn't the only time Hasenfratz fucked up, it was just the worst.
