Fire Mike Malone
They actually played respectable ball w/o Butler prior to the trade, but have gone 4-11 since and don’t have any direction as a franchise whatsoever… I actually feel worry for what Jimmy did to them, because they really didn’t deserve this.
Looking back at the return, it was Andrew Wiggins, Kyle Anderson, Davion Mitchell, and what it quickly appearing to be a late first (Jimmy’s ability to get FT’s filled what has become an obvious hole for GS).
Throw in another player that started the year with the Heat, Terry Rozier, and Miami has two middling veterans who has once-promising careers that have clearly plateaued as they hit 30. Wiggins and Rozier will combine to make $55 million next season, and if you add Kyle Anderson to that group and that number rises to $64 million tied to three ho-hum vets…
While Wiggins will still put up decent scoring numbers, the rest of his game is uninspiring and there’s such marginal trade value between those three players. Maybe they could try and see if Charlotte would take back Rozier and the last year of his contract for free, but otherwise this is a franchise stuck in the mud.
The sky is cloudy in Miami. But…
Them tanking in addition to the Hawks embarking on a winning stretch again is what’s going to help me win the over/under contest.
