Is their a playmaking Center available? If so, who & at what cost? Obviously the Sabres are in the playoff race. The problem is with Dallas leading their division Brad Richards isn't going anywhere.

I do not expect any blockbuster deals made this year. I am focusing on the next year or two. It would be a stretch to make it this year and then not be competitive in the playoffs.

I would bet the focus is on the next year or two. JMO, I'm not Eklund......I'm better. :D

Darcy hasn't traded many prospects away in the past. Do you think this philosophy will change a bit?

Can Buffalo become a destination spot for UFA's?

It's a great hockey town. Players make choices based on ownership and what is in it for them. I feel it's safe to assume that's reality.

It's like the Buffalo Bill's in the early 90's. Players wanted to play here because they felt the organization was committed to winning. Pittsburgh is not a large markek but players would love to play there.

The bottom line is it's up to the owner and his commitment to winning. Players love money and to have their name on the Cup is the icing on the case.

I don't think many can disagree with that.

I heard on the radio yesterday that Pegula wanted to get this deal done now as opposed to after the season because he wants to have some influence (positive influence) on the team making a big splash at the deadline ... and its not neccessarily a trade to make the playoffs ... he also wants to make the dollars available for the team to hire back some pro scouts after the majority of them were let go so they can do something at the draft this year

If Pegula does the behind the scenes non-cap bill paying that we dont see but players talk about (Ie player development stuff) then players will want to go there
