Ryan Ellis didn't even want to wear that silver medal. Wonder how many of them will be making a trip to the waste basket.

Don't attack me for this, I saw a Canadian post it:

Canada, so generous. They gave Buffalo all their green, and Russia all their gold.

Pretty accurate description. All in all a pretty good tourney for Buffalo. Money from attendance and got to watch Canada make a fool of itself in the gold medal game.

This whole thing was great for the City of Buffalo. Even though the US team didn't get Gold, they at least got a medal on home soil, and all the Canadians gave a much needed boost to the local economy.

I don't think anyone regrets Buffalo hosting it this year.

Why would they? This hosting job firmly solidifies Buffalo as Hockeytown USA in my books. Even if mostly all the fans there were Canadian :p

What a freaking game. It was hard for me to NOT fall in love with that Russian squad. They played with such passion and were NEVER down and out. Heartbreaker for the Canadian squad, but dang, what a comeback.

Another kick in the nuts

Oh well ... Good job russia ... A tough go recently with 6th at last years juniors
, the shitshow at the olympics .. The disappearance of the russians at the draft

Maybe their luck is turning now that they kicked kyle wellwood out of the country

I really hope these Russian players can make their way over here. I realize the allure of the money can be great, but isn't the allure of playing in the best league in the world bigger? I mean, if I'm a fantastic soccer player, I know that I'm going to the Primiere League if they'll have me, not rotting in the US.

Sorry Canada fans. Heartbreaking way to lose a game let alone a championship. Being a Sharks fan I know the feeling all to well. A bummer Cowen never got a gold medal. It'll be nice to have him back on the Chiefs though, even if he's only there for a few more days.

Weird to think Canada didn't win this 2 years in a row. I don't wanna think about the team they're going to ice next year. It's gonna be something fierce for sure.

You never know.

For Canada it has a lot to do with what NHL GMs want.

Can you imagine Tavares, Duchene, E. Kane, Seguin, Hall, Skinner and O'Reilly on this team?

It would have gotten ugly.

The best CAN teams are those that for whatever reason have less 18-19 year olds in the NHL.

Next year is still up in the air

I do realize you never know what's gonna happen with players in the NHL. Still I just get the feeling 2 years without a gold isn't going to be accepted by the hockey brass in Canada. I think a lot of it will depend on which players make their NHL teams next season, but it wouldn't shock me to see a couple of the underage players in the NHL next season get waivers to play for the World Junior team.
