Sweden vs USA for the Bronze starts in a half-hour. I think the US wins this one, as Sweden looked absolutely disinterested after their shoot-out loss in the semis.

Canada vs Russia in just under 4 hours. Canada blasted Russia's goalie in their round-robin meeting (6-3), and since that game, Shikin has taken over in net, and Russia has been much, much better. By the end of the game, I hope to hear at least one "Why did the Shikin cross the road / goal" joke. Canada's game seems to be peaking at just the right time. The US game was the best they have played by far.
Go Canada Go!!!!!!!!!!!

The under 17 Gold medal game is just winding down now
currently Ontario 4 - USA 3 in the 3rd period
Team Ontario goalie just got blasted through the net (back of head hit crossbar),
we'll see if we have a Punch-up in Pe...er... Winnipeg

5-3 Ontario now. some 16 year old pulled the Forsberg move on a penalty shot. pretty sweet.

the u17 game is a repeat no? Ontario ends up winning 5 -3

any sightings of Popeye Jones kid on D?

oops spoiler - lol

back to the bold - i dont know Scandinavians are resilient when it comes to 3rd place games ... i think their mentality is different than in North America where we could give a shit about 3rd ... that being said I think the trauma that the US team went through is done and they might now show everyone how good a team they are ... in summary ... i dont know lol

don't know if it's a repeat. maybe delayed a bit. they showed Poppa Gubrandson in the stands and Randorf mentioned how they are going to bolt right after the game to catch Eric's big game in Buffalo. but yeah, they won 5-3. (Edit: yes, the game was delayed on TV)

yeah, I got the feeling Sweden was "gold or bust" coming into this thing... which is a bit odd considering their lack of golds in recent history. (no gold since 1998, no medal since 2002).
Sweden playing their back-up goalie if that's any indication

should I also include coverage of the Women's U18 tournament, or just have a seat over there?
Canada's gals have outscored the opposition 23-3 in their first three games so far. Granted, those opponents have not included the US yet.

my bad ... 1981
oops.. you're right. not sure what i was looking at.

Good shift for USA but nothing to show for it.
welcome to the board.

So far Sweden playing like they are wanting it (US has more pressure though).
there was a shift where about 4 different guys blocked a shot in the crease. the goalie might have gotten a piece of one too.

decent pace to the game.

I never want this tourney in my city again. The Toronto uppity shitheads did noting but rag on us and most of them were popping zits when people from TO came here for entertainment. Actually they still do shopping at our malls and leaving shit in the parking lots.

It makes me sick how the Canadian treats this city that has always welcomed them with open arms. Thank you Canada !

Lol... jk. I'm rooting for Canada, even though I still hate you bastards for stealing the Gold in the olympics. I'd much rather you guys get it than Russia. Good luck ;)

Yeah, but how many Americans were there to celebrate the win?

Not the result that I was hoping for, but 3rd place is better than nothing considering the team that beat us.
