what are your thoughts on Fuente?

The jury is still out but this is his year to make it work. This will be his fourth year where mostly his guys are in place now. That said, most of the players leaving with the exception of Kumah would be legit backups. My guess is Fuente is taking a hard stance with his players in terms of what he expects and people are either with him or out. Fuente has kind of distanced himself with the media and fans over time so all of this rides on him. Winning solves everything.

Thoughts are as follows:

- He seems to be pretty stubborn and loyal to his coaches almost a fault (CB position coach and OC are not P5 coaches IMO). At CB this hits home because VT made a name for itself at that position.
- He has had the unfortunate situation of having NO stability at the qb position. Something has always happened the following year, Jerod Evans bolts for the NFL, Jackson gets hurt, etc. That said, his qbs seem unprepared at least to my eye. Whether it is misread on a play, hanging on to the ball too long, etc. This is odd to me as he was supposed to be a "qb whisperer" of sorts...
- The coaches (especially offensively) ability to adjust in the second half of games is downright atrocious. One possible reason: This could be due to a lack of upper classmen (year in and year out) that are on the roster that can execute to Fuente's / Corn's liking.

Looks like our qb Hooker will stay at Tech now and we picked also picked up a 4 star DT qb from Oregon - Burmeister. suddenly went from 2 QBs to now 5. That portal will change things up in a heartbeat...
