A&M loses by 20+ to Clemson. Far from the best game on the list.
Almost beat them last year.

You sound like what I was saying about Ohio State a year ago...We did lose some guys but we still return 2 potential 1st rounders on the D-line. And the secondary will be fine. Admittedly, we need some LB'ers to step up. We still return 6/7 starters on defense.
And yeah I don't think there will be all that much difference between UVA and Cincy this year. But I do think UVA will be slightly better.

Did I guarantee Jones was a 1st rounder? I know I did with Bosa, and at that time there were a lot of mocks with Jones going 1st, but I don't remember guaranteeing he was a 1st rounder.I'm just not guaranteeing two 1st rounders like you did with Jones.
Where is this year's game being played at?
True. But it's at 14. Plus their QB is really good. He was impressive last season. I don't think Anderson is awful, he was awful at Oregon State, but he was productive before that.
Somehow he finished ranked #16 in his final season at Utah State before he left for Wisconsin. Seems like a bit of an aberration though.
10. Virginia at Notre Dame
Wow, can't believe they would be as high as 5th. I would put money they won't be that high when the actual rankings come out.
I wouldn't say UVA had a "much tougher schedule". They didn't face a single ranked team. From a storyline standpoint, though, I actually don't know many games that are better than UC/OSU just for the Luke Fickell aspect. It's compelling, seeing a guy face his alma mater when they wouldn't give him the HC gig coming off an 11-win season, regardless who you are a fan of.

I was mostly talking about your description of ND's defense - D line is good, secondary is fine, LBs will need to step up. Then... not so good.
They aren't projected to be all that great, and both of their better OOC games are rematches from last season. Takes a little luster off of those games. Plus PSU and UCF hammered them last year.
at Utah state he went 4-8, 4-8, 7-6, 11-2
in the 7-6 season Boise had just left for the MWC. in the 11-2 year Fresno, Nevada and Hawaii all jumped too and New to the FBS UTSA and Texas State joined. they got fat on garbage.
he turned that into Wisconsin job were Bielema already had Wiscy fat. he was only there 2 years where he won with other recruits in a weaker division of the Big.
Oregon State was a hot mess and he left it the same way
This greater than OU/UCLA?
Two of the better offensive minds facing off but no, somehow Virginia v Notre Dame is a better game. Not even going to give 14 and 15 anything more than my reference to them here.
Oh I definitely could've said something like that, that sounds like me.I don't exactly remember, but I said he'd probably be a mid rounder and you said, well I'll go with the experts or something to that effect. Lol. Not a big deal, was just an attempt at a little banter is all.
As for next year, that's probably a good description. I'd say I have a little more faith in our D-line than I would have OSU's last year, just because of the experience factor and no Bosa.
There are certainly games with bigger brands involved, Boise/FSU, OU/UCLA, ASU/Michigan State, but Fresno was a top 20 team last season, and Minnesota returns 15 starters. Plus after the top 14 games, the next game wasn't going to be all that great either IMO.
Riley is heading into year 3Gimme OU @ UCLA any day.
Year 2 for both Riley and Chip Kelly.
Chip Kelly inherited talent. It'll be interesting to see how they've progressed offensively after a full year in his system.

UCLA finished 3-9 last year. If anything this is due to the respect I have for OU, because I don't think that game will be close at all.
Riley is heading into year 3
Could be a WAC style shoot-out.
