Well, him using certainly invited that sort of public opinion. I'm a bias Cruz homer anyway. I just buy his story because it does add up with what was going on at the time but I'll even admit its still a possibility. I think we all knew he had the potential to be the kind of hitter has become, even early in his career though.
Yeah, if he was on the stuff again he would probably get caught. Until he gets caught again I will give him the benefit of the doubt no matter who he is playing for. He is a special player.

Brinson and Guzman both with 2 hits tonight. A double for Brinson and a HR for Guzman.

Richelson Pena with 5.1 innings of no hit ball for Frisco tonight. He gave up 1 walk and got 6 strikeouts. Matt Bush with 2 walks and 2 strikeouts in one inning.

That was a great game. Baseball is funny sometimes. If Chirinos doesn't get hurt, then we don't get that feel good story with Brett Nicholas. Of course I didn't want Chirinos to be injured, but its just an observation.

If the Rangers can get timely hitting like this the rest of the way, they will be in great shape.

Why. He didn't get caught by any sort of testing the first time.

Love how Maz goes with the pitch. Good approach for someone 20 years old. I know Fielder does the same thing. Saw the 1st half of the game then watched the highlights a little while ago. Good game all around.

And how could I forget. Nice job by Rua, Odor and Nicholas as well. The young guns.

A couple of side notes. I did not realize that one of my favorite ball players growing up in Lou Brock had his leg amputated below the knee 6 months ago. Threw out the 1st pitch yesterday.

And did anyone see that infield fly rule invoked in the Padres-Phillies game that none of the infielders could get too? Turned into a DP for the Padres.

Mazara, despite being 18 months younger (than Gallo), is a refined hitter who has power, three major league evaluators said Tuesday.

"Mazara's approach and instincts are so advanced for his age," said one AL scout. "He uses the field and is a threat in any count. Basically, he owns the plate."

Brief as Mazara's career may be, one stat sums up the difference between the two. Mazara had more two-strike hits in his first major league game than Gallo had in his first major league season. Gallo was 1 for 64 last season when the count got to two strikes. Mazara went 2 for 2 in those situations. It suggests Mazara found a way to make adjustments to the pitcher within a single at-bat.

I like that Holyday & Nicholas are L/R hitters while Chirinos is out, looks like Nicholas has done a lot of work improving behind the plate the last couple years, I think he might be a backup solution going forward the next couple year, or maybe Holyday is, but nice to see Nicholas get an audition

I'd always rather see internal promotion than knee-jerk trades

Yeah no more Christian Guzman type trades...Tanner Roark would have been pretty damn valuable for Texas the past few years.
