Our previous poll ended with Andrew Luck winning.

I know as the fifth poll, this seems long. You don't need to be in it for the long haul, just vote when you can. The offseason is long and I will space it out. There will come a time where it doesn't matter so I will group, but we'll go as far as we can.

Question: Who is the sixth best QB in the league?

Here are the parameters:

This is just for this coming year. Age can matter as far as current abilities and experience, etc., but don't choose a young QB over Peyton Manning because so and so is younger and can offer more years. Just base it upon who they are now. If younger means better, sure. Otherwise, it's irrelevant.

Assume that each QB is in the optimal system with an equal level of talent around them and coaching. If the current QB of a team does not fit in their current system or on a bad team, imagine them in the right system and average team.

This time, I just put who I think people would have in the next 12 - not my personal next 12. Make sense?

Reminder: This poll is for who currently is the sixth best QB. This is not a career accomplishment poll or all-time or potential poll. Thus, vote for Big Ben if you think he's the sixth best QB, not because he has two rings. Is he sixth most likely to lead your average surrounding cast to a SB? Similarly, don't vote on pure potential, unless you believe that potential or significant proportion of that potential will be realized this year. Try to be objective. :)

In other words, please don't vote for Flacco or Kaepernick?

LOL, no. Just vote for who you believe is sixth. If you believe Flacco is, by all means.

This is getting harder now. A lot of these guys are now interchangeable. Here's my take:

1) Tom Brady
2) Aaron Rodgers
3) Peyton Manning
4) Drew Brees
5) Andrew Luck
6) Philip Rivers

This choice is def tough from here on out. I think it would really depend on the pieces you have around the qb bc an argument can be made for many of these qbs. I went Matty Ice who had an off year last year but I think has too much talent to not bounce back. If the pieces around the qb were not as talented I would go with more of a mobile qb such as Kaep, RW, or Cam.

I tried to say that every QB has average and equal supporting casts in this hypothetical ranking. Otherwise, it gets more complicated like you said. Maybe I should have been more clear. I'm trying to get a pure QB ranking that is current and not all time or career accomplishment type.

Manning/Big Ben/Ryan/Kaepernick/Cutler/Stafford/Flacco/Romo/Rivers/Newton haters.

No, I made an executive decision (just kidding) to name Manning as third because he was so close to Brady in this board's polls. But, I wanted to keep the name of the thread ("Pt. 6") same as the number of QB we're on. I was trying to make the process quicker for this board, but didn't want to do that on the main board.

This board is where I post most, so I felt making it quicker (but getting this board's opinion) was better. I don't see doing it again as it isn't as clear cut from this point forward. The choices for the polls are slightly different for this board both because if a different QB is selected than the main board, he's no longer a choice on this board or for another reason. PM if you want to know more.
