Can we subtract the Pittsburgh fans who voted for Rothelisburger and the Indy fans who voted for Luck too? Or do you only get to subtract Seahawk fan votes?

Just the Pittsburgh fans. ;)

I picked Ryan as well. I think he's going to have a monster season, when you consider all the weapons he has, and the addition of Steven Jackson.

Hopefully we find the guy in the draft we need to jumpstart the offensive line. If Jackson gets hurt again and/or doesn't produce we'll probably be looking for a RB in next years draft.

2015 NFL Running Back Free Agent Tracker

There won't be anybody on the free agent market in the foreseen future but I like Steven Jackson. I hope he can finish out his career strong in Atlanta.

I dont get why Russell Wilson was selected here, there's just guys that are not on the list that can spin it better and make better decisions

If this had been done a couple of years ago flacco would have been higher after his SB too. Just how it works.

Try watching him play a little more and you would figure it out.

In all of the 38 years I have watched the Seahawks, we have never had a QB can handle the pressure, who can calmly make the right decision when under great duress.

Behind one of the worst pass blocking OLs in the league last year and a WR corp that did not have a #1 WR he made great decisions and posted great numbers. He rarely threw INTs, he made big plays when he needed to.

With the way the Seahawks are built and their emphasis on the running game and strong D he will not put up 4500+ yard seasons (but that could change in the future) but he will do what is necessary and he will do what is correct.

He's not a bad QB, I have watched him play and i've been impressed...but Top 5 is a huge stretch

He makes plays because he can extend the plays, ...The Seattle O-line was not awful by any mean, alot of the sacks that gave up were b/c Russell was trying to make a play.

He's had 19 picks and 11 fumbles in his 2 year career, he can turn it over.

Seattle has a great formula goin for them and if Russell played for the Raiders, we may not of known him that well

That's just completely wrong.

Nobody will deny that Wilson holds on to the ball and extends plays. But that doesn't mean that his offensive line wasn't atrocious. He was sacked plenty of times because the interior was demolished at the snap.

Maybe you just need to get familiar with the line that you're talking about.

This is just a great example of someone talking out of their ass. An oline is something that you need to watch week in, week out to give a real valuation. You dont watch nearly enough of the Seahawks oline to draw any kind of real conclusión. Anyone that does watch them extensively came to the same conclusion, they started average but as injuries mounted they sucked. I dont come on this board talking about the falcons line. I watched the team a few times but if I pretended like thats nearly enough to tell you who they are, I would look like a jerkoff. That obviously doesnt stop everyone though.

You're right, with such compelling thought as...

"They were atrocious" and "the middle would get blown up"

As a fair weather fan, I knew I was outmatched by such a well worded analysis

Yeah, it doesn't take much to dismiss the argument that the Hawks o-line was good. Just a little reality.

Seahawks fans have heard many folks claim the Seahawks have a great OL, it gets a little old. Seahawks OL has been a above average run blocking team and at best ( when totally healthy) an average pass blocking OL. Yet fans from other teams keep trying to correct our " misconception" about how good our OL line is, how about giving Seahawks fans a little credit about knowing how good the OL is? It isn't like we want the OL to be rated badly, it just that they really weren't good at pass blocking. The Seahawks let two starters walk for a reason, one of them is still looking for employment.

This is where you both are out of line, I never said they were good

I'm arguing that they weren't atrocious like the hawk fans are making them out to be and Russell Wilson is this god like qb that had no help whatsoever

Dude, they were awful for most of the year in pass protection. Deny it if you like, it's a fact.

You would be wrong. The OL was so damn bad that for a long stretch Seahawks fans here on SportsHoopla were saying there is no way Russell Wilson doesn't get injured and in fact he played with a injured shoulder for a good portion of the year.

As for our enthusiasm for Russell Wilson all he did was help the Seahawks make the playoffs in his rookie year and led what would of been one of the all time great come backs in the playoffs, only to have the defense have a melt down the last thirty seconds of the game and lose the game. No matter , in his second season he help lead the Seahawks to SuperBowl champs, despite a OL line that was only so so at pass blocking.

Seahawks fans need make no excuses for last season. If we tell you our OL was crap at pass blocking, take it as gospel. We have no reason to make shit up.

Seattle ranked 27th by this site
https://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2014/01/13/2013-offensive-line-rankings/

Seattle ranked 32nd in pass protection by a different site

Seattle ranked 26th on this site
NFL Power Rankings: Ranking Every NFL Team's Offensive Line | Bleacher Report

And NFL.com has them 23rd
NFL Stats: by Team Category

Can we put this to bed now? At best Seattle's Oline was 20th but averages out around 27th. That is 5 different sports sites including NFL.com. Even if you don't like the way some sites rank things you can't argue against all 5. There were more too, I just stopped at 5 because that should be enough to show even stubborn people that Wilson had almost zero protection against a pass rush last year and still had outstanding numbers.

According to these metrics Seattle was DEAD LAST in the league in pass protection... DEAD FUCKING LAST

27th overall, 25th in pass blocking, and 30th in stupid penalties.

No matter how many times we show and PROVE the line was bad, we always end up with people like you telling us we are wrong without once EVER showing anything to prove your point. We are always told we are just wrong.

Sorry, you all didn't see much of that team on offense it seems. Those of us that watched it every week saw a fucking horrible offensive line in the passing game. Just fucking horrible.
