how are you liking the new QB so far?

seems solid

He's not a great passer, but he doesn't make dumb decisions. The biggest difference between him and O'Brien is that Stave doesn't fumble. He's had two brutal sacks today where O'Brien would have fumbled and given UTEP at least three points. Stave held on to the ball. He's also fairly mobile.

As a pure passer with a perfect O-Line, I think O'Brien would be the better choice. I wish that was the case with us this year, but it isn't.

I'll say this about UTEP......they are a very PHYSICAL team. They lost to OU because their lack of talent at QB and Kicker caught up to them......and they lost 25 players to injury. But what shocked me more was that they hit OU in the mouth......and OU for 3 and 1/2 quarters got punked.

Repeatedly charging and delivering helmet to helmet hits when the tackle is already being applied isn't physical. It is classless. I'm ashamed we scheduled these punks.

So they arent supposed to finish tackles especially on a tough RB that doesnt go down easily. They are suposed to take him lightly and give him chance to break tackle? They dont call helmet to helmet on hits on a RB.

When a guy is stopped and moving backwards, charging in at full speed to give a helmet to helmet hit only makes sense if you are trying to injury. There have been 3-4 hits that were plain dirty. Several nice physical hits, but some dirty ones as well.
