The Season So Far-week –Week 10

1st 4: Alabama, Clemson, Notre Dame, Michigan

2nd 4: Georgia, Oklahoma, Washington St, LSU

3rd 4: West Virginia, Ohio State, UCF, Kentucky

Analysis: Alabama really separated itself from the others with a defining win at LSU. Clemson is a solid second. Michigan and Ohio State, and Oklahoma and West Virginia still will play each other, but very little is left to change the ratings. Notre Dame may have beaten the best team remaining on their schedule.

My Picks for the Playoff: Alabama, Clemson, Notre Dame, Michigan

Analysis. Michigan may be the 2nd best team in the country the way they are playing. The match with Ohio State should be for a playoff berth. Same with Oklahoma and West Virginia. Barring an upset from the top 3, style points will be a major factor in determining who makes the playoffs. Georgia would have to beat Alabama to make the playoffs and I can’t see that happening.

Most surprising: Michigan, Washington St, Kentucky, Syracuse

Analysis: Michigan is not only surprising but a threat to reach the finals of the playoffs. Washington State still has a chance to get in, but would need a lot of help. Kentucky having a great season as is Syracuse and their goals will be a top ten finish.

Most disappointing: Nebraska, Louisville, UCLA, and Arkansas.

Analysis: Despite recent improvement, Nebraska has only 2 wins. Same for the other 3. Louisville lost a Heisman Trophy QB, but was expected to be better than this. UCLA can only wait for next year.

Heisman Trophy: Tua Tagovailoa, , Kyler Murray, Dwayne Haskins.

Analysis: It hasn’t changed in a while, but Tagovailoa has separated himself from the other two. Best player on the best team looks like the case this year.

Big 3 Games of the Week: Clemson-Boston College, Michigan State-Ohio State, Oklahoma-Oklahoma St.

Analysis: No real super games this week. BC having a great year takes on its biggest test in Clemson. Michigan State could spoil Ohio States chances to make the playoffs , while the same could happen in the big rivalry clash between Oklahoma and Oklahoma State. Picks: Clemson 31-17 over BC, Ohio State 24-20 over Michigan State and Oklahoma 45-31 over Oklahoma State.

Big games the rest of the season. Oklahoma-West Virginia, Michigan-Ohio State, Washington-Washington State. Big 12 Championship, SEC Championship

Analysis: The season is coming down to a few key games. Upsets that affect the status of the big games remaining could impact on the rest of the season. If the top 3 teams finish undefeated, only 1 spot will be left for the playoffs.
