Someone from Bloomberg Business Week did a review of the new stadium after the soccer game there the other day and he didn't seem impressed.

The San Francisco 49ers' New Football Stadium Is a Dud

On Saturday night, 48,000 people showed up for a soccer game between the San Jose Earthquakes and the Seattle Sounders at the brand new Levi’s Stadium located in Silicon Valley. The soccer fans were serving as guinea pigs, helping to work out the stadium’s kinks before the really important San Francisco 49ers football fans arrive in a few weeks. For me, the big takeaway was that the Levi’s Stadium staff has plenty of work to do, and the stadium does not live up to its billing as a technological marvel at all.

So traffic issues in a brand new stadium's first event and the WiFi not being up to snuff make the stadium a "dud" ?? Everyone I know who went there said it was an amazing stadium and a great atmosphere, yes the food and drinks are gonna be overpriced just like every other new stadium. As far as the gridlock after the game that is gonna have to get worked out.

There's obviously some work to do and I heard all about the traffic too. I want to hear how the next game goes. It'll get better quick.

The traffic and trains are very fixable. It will probably take a year or two before its a perfected though.

It takes time and learning from your mistakes to work these things out. The public transportation system in Seattle wasn't ready for the volume of people that the Super Bowl parade brought to the city. I expect them to be much more prepared for it after this season.

Not having the wifi means they can't stream their guide on how to properly cheer at a game.

They might actually have to hand it out on paper again. :tsk:

I keep forgetting. Are fans supposed to be loud when your team is on offense or is it best to be quiet?
What is the best way to do it when the D is playing. Quiet?
It is so confusing.

I'm glad they cleared up that you only cheer when the fog horn goes off DURING the game. I wouldn't want to see any spurious cheering at the 30 minute to kick off fog horn blast. Whew!

My old high school stadium is considered amazing when you are comparing it to Candlestick. That place was a dump.

Give it a year after it opens to get a real feel for it. Stadiums when they first open are basically just giant slabs of concrete. I remember Citifield was cool but not great when I first went. A year later I thought it was amazing. It takes some time to figure out.

Metlife Stadium on the other hand sucks.

I wonder if many of the “12 > 49″ bricks are visible.
