What the fans think and how hard the Rangers fight to win have nothing to do with each other.

I think you are giving Mathis a pass to easily. I would hope we wouldn't put up with a catcher hitting that poorly if we weren't rebuilding. No amount of defense is worth that.
this team has so many holes it isn't worth coming to see

With Hernandez, Alexy and Crouse all pitching today, it will be a great day for prospect watching.

I believe Owen White is the second Rangers prospect drafted out of HS last year who has to undergo TJ surgery after not being allowed to pitch last year after being drafted. Shutting those guys down seemed a bit strange to begin with and now it even seems dangerous.

Why is Choo playing defense late in games? Shades of Wash?

I would like to see Woodward make some moves as the manager instead of staying status quo. I said before the 9th started that I am surprised that Kelley is not closing for now until Leclerc gets it together. I also think he should reverse Odor and Santana in today's lineup.

I think he’s trying too much to be a crowd pleaser right now in the locker room.

He’s gotta make some tough decisions eventually.

Just like Banny last year, keeping Dyson in the closer role.

I was looking at the stats and we have several Mendoza’s on the team. Here’s the list.

Ikf - .200

Delino- .192

Mathis - .170

Wisdom- .154

Odor- .145

The only acceptable ones in my mind are ikf, Mathis, and wisdom. Wisdom is overmatched and will go back down to the minors shortly. We knew Mathis was terrible with the bat, we just wanted him for his superb defense.

I’ll give ikf the benefit of the doubt because he’s focused so much of his time and effort into learning a new position. He hasn’t been as good at the plate as i expected him to be.

Delino and Odor. What the heck? These guys are both given everyday player status and they can barely get hits or get on base.

I’ve had ranger fans tell me that “ this is a rebuilding year, who cares” well I think that’s loser talk! People pay their hard earned money to go to these games and people spend their valuable time watching this team on tv, the least the rangers can do is fight as hard as possible to win. If we get to the point where we’re 20 games out in July, then I don’t care if we drop games, but until we get to that point this team needs to fight!

I’ve also had people say “ I don’t care about wins, I just want to see our young core develop”. Once again, I think that’s crazy talk. The Oakland A’s weren’t expecting to compete last year and that team won a wild card. The job of the manager is to try and win games. I think the team gets way too caught up in the promising guys spots / playing time and rigidly sticking to that plan.

The reality is that odor and Delino barely look like major league players right now. I hope we are ready to make some changes in a few weeks if these guys don’t pick it up.
Wisdom has already been sent down. When Odor was called up.

I can’t believe little Odor and his .145 average are hitting second again.

Santana needs to be playing 2b or cf but definitely playing more.
