Going back to the JRod extension convo from another thread (didn't feel like finding it...lol). Here is a take on it from Passan. Scary numbers.

I personally don't get those huge numbers in the article. I like JRod, but to make him a $40-$50M per year player after less than a year? Right now he is 31st in WAR for position players at 3.4. In comparison is Suarez at 3.3.

Right now he is playing like George Springer.

JRod: .271, 19 HRs, 62 R, 63 RBIs, 450 PAs
Springer: .271, 18 HRs, 64 R, 54 RBIs, 407 PAs

I hope he gets paid, but I also hope they don't get stupid.
