You might just be on to something - unfortunately - here.

The trade deadline loses a lot of its luster if we’re unable to move Beltre and hamels.

I think diekman will be moved for whatever we can get. He’s a good reliever and an expiring contract.

The market will dictate whether we trade kela or not. We still have control for a year or two and should only let him go for a good deal ( for us).

Choo really needs to be moved. Even if we have to take back mediocre prospects and chip in money. We have too many guys with choos skill set in the majors and in the minors. He’s mainly blocking the development of younger players at this juncture.

( I mean left handed hitters who are not great at fielding their positions. We need more right handed guys who are talented)

I’m still hopeful, but an epic return like the Yankees got a few years ago at the deadline is starting to look unlikely.

Can't imagine it'd be much. His last 4/5 outings have been a struggle, and his ERA has balooned to 4.37.

I've always been of the mindset that anyone is trade-able, it all depends on what you're getting back.

But I don't see there being much if any market for Hamels or Beltre, and I'd trade both Diekman and Kela b/c I do believe they can bring us back something decent.

Cole Hamels once went through a 5 game stretch where his ERA was 7.46 during that stretch. His NL ERA for the year stood at 3.91 for the year after those 5 games. Typically it was thought that you would had a half run to an ERA in the NL to see what it would be in the AL. Yet, even after that 5 game stretch a team was "foolish" enough to trade for him just a few days later. Will another team be that "foolish" here in a few days? Let's hope so.
