Seems like for 80% of our players, its a swinging pendulum of posters just waiting to say I told you so

After a hot start, doing most of the things we want to see, some are "I think Gallo's figured it out" a couple bad games later, someone else "I don't think he's going to figure it out"

After a rough opening day start, "Mike Minor is probably best as a reliever" a couple good starts later "He's pretty good, I wonder what we can get for him at the deadline"

I usually have to stay away from the in-game chats myself. The pendulum swings with every at bat.

To each his own though. It takes all kinds to make a board like this work.

I’ve been on the “I don’t think Gallo is gonna figure it out” train for a while. His first few games didn’t change my mind.

The whole lineup looked great at home except for odor / Deshields.

Maybe they can pick it up this weekend. I was excited about beating the cubs in that first series, but they look like one of the worst teams in the league right now.

Just a thought but may be we have seen better pitching. Cubs certainly had nothing from their ace's. In fact Yu and Cole were non-existence. LAA and Zona were quite different.

From today's Basrball America prospect report:

Hans Crouse, RHP, Rangers. Crouse was dealing for Class-A Hickory, striking out nine batters across five innings. The Rangers’ top prospect closed out his start by recording 12 consecutive outs. While he still has many levels to climb, Crouse has the makings of becoming a front-line starter.

Gallo was the main reason we didn’t score.

2 shit balls in the dirt and he swung at both.
no plate discipline at all. never has never will. always looking to hit a 4-run homer even when the bases are empty

He had shown discipline in the first series. Records prove it but since then you are right. Will he again? Time will tell but I'm not betting the farm.

I've been on that train also. I wouldn't sign him to another contract. Not worth it.

Since I have IPtv the Stars were on Fox Sports SW so I had to watch the game on Fox Sports Arizona. I liked their announcers. They called it like it was and were very unbiased in strikes and balls called on both pitchers. They called the strike out to Pence in his last AB as they said he is just ready to swing at everything. Kind of enjoyed it.

Re Gallo. Like I posted He did not recognize the pitches. I always think new pitchers have the edge on batters because the ball does different things. Interleague can be tougher on hitters.

The question is he committed to being more selective WHEN he recognizes pitches. My guess is that he will unless he decides to stop buying into the process.

Now Odor seemed to regress to me going back to old habits. He uses an oversized bat and every swing looks to be to the fences starting early to get it through the zone. They say it is a leg kick issue and I hope ther is a solution.

What makes you show sure of that? His walks are up.

It is good to have a Ranger board especially with different viewpoints. I am ok jumping in midgame but the old rapid reactions were the best

One thing about guys like Gallo, Odor and DDJ is how long and how much money are teams willing to invest for success.

Well the only monetary investment early has been to Odor at what was thought to be a discounted rate. No coercion to extend Gallo and I am thinking this could be DDJ last year as a Ranger

Once that happens they let them walk, or trade them, unless they give a hometown discount.
can you enlighten me on who we did that with. I know several that achieved success afterwards
