The Rams are now the third-most valuable franchise in the NFL

Rams owner Stan Kroenke will never come out and say it, but a big reason he moved his team to Los Angeles is because there's almost no ceiling to the amount of profits Kroenke will be able to make there.

The Rams owner will basically be able to print his own money once his $1.86 billion stadium complex is up and running in Inglewood, California.

Although the stadium isn't expected to be finished until 2019, that doesn't mean Kroenke won't see any immediate financial benefits from his team's move to L.A.

Take the Rams' valuation, for instance. According to Michael Ozanian, the executive editor for Forbes, the franchise is already worth a lot more money, thanks to the move.

"It doubles the value of the team," Ozanian told the Washington Post this week.

That means the Rams' value shot up from $1.45 billion to $2.9 billion the minute the NFL made the move official. That also means the Rams are now the third-most valuable team in the NFL, behind only the Cowboys ($4 billion) and Patriots ($3.2 billion).

When Forbes released its annual rankings of most valuable NFL franchises back in September, the Rams were ranked 28th.

"That valuation incorporated the fact they were portable," Ozanian explained. "We didn't know they were going to Los Angeles specifically but we knew they were portable. That value assumed they had the ability to leave."

The magazine won't officially be updating its NFL rankings until later in 2016, but when they do, you can bet the Rams will be a lot higher than they were in 2015.

Yep, no surprise here.
I like the fact that only two teams are ahead of the Rams in value. The Pats and Boys, by the time it's all said and done, we could be top dog Retro.

And to think, there were all those so-called economist who said building a stadium in LA made no business sense for Stan. :L

Yep. Stan maybe a limp noodle in the social realm but he is a pretty smart money-making guy. He knew what he was doing all along. You don't get to be a billionaire just because someone gives you some seed money.

Its probably more accurate to say that he is an exceptionally smart money guy with a team of smart money-making guys.

Its a shame he doesn't actually care about sports enough to have the same cutthroat nature in building a winner. His is cheap with his soccer team and his hockey team lives in mediocrity. Best thing that could happen to LA is Kroenke selling the team to a better owner.

That will eventually happen Clayton because as you stated, Kroneke has zero brains for actually building a winning team on the field. In many respects he is very much like the Queen idiot. Interested only in obtaining gobs of money but clueless on football management or actually building a winning sports franchise.

He leaves running the team to his hired football people. Some football owners would do well to learn from that.

That said, the admittance by the Rams that they aren't very good at free agency needs attention immediately.

The problem is a bit more complex than that Shopson. He leaves the management of his teams to incompetents and seems to be oblivious that he has hired people who don't know what they are doing. He seldom fires people even when their performances are demonstrably incompetent.

As I said from the beginning, this was the reason Stan moved...Money and power. The more money the franchise is worth, the more power/influence he has in the NFL...
