You are OK with RG3 getting injured and the Redskins having to pay him $16M for doing nothing? WTF?

I would prefer to see us getting SOMETHING back out of all we invested in him. I fully expect we wont. And IM cool with that. But I would be just as cool seeing him not take a snap in 2016 as well. The $16 million... Meh what ever. We will likely burn that much in dead/unproductive money any way. While this was partially started as tongue in cheek. I freely admit I hope he never plays again.

Cmon man - get over it already. I actually give credit to RG3 with how he handled the past season & also realize that he is not a monster as some suggest - he has done quite a bit for charity over the last several years.

Just like with Fat Al - once he is gone we should not worry about him any longer - water under the bridge. If he thrives elsewhere - so be it - who cares? The Redskins need to be reaching the pt where they don't worry about the talent on other teams.

Wouldn't want to cross your good opinion @Sharkinva

I can forgive an honest mistake, but intentional bad behavior doesnt sit very well with me. And i dont think he should be further rewarded for his bad behavior.

Hmm. A couple of follow-up questions. What about bad behavior that is followed up by removing that behavior and subsequently making amends? This is assuming that the initial behavior was not awful such as murder. I have not seen RG3 really do anything wrong in at least a year. Perhaps he is changing his ways (maybe not) - only time will tell.

Also - given your take - why not transfer the problem to someone else? Why not make it the problem of the Cowboys, Texans, etc? If your idea is to clean up the whole world - good luck with that. There are people in corporate America doing far worse & they get rewarded all of the time. I don't see the pt in trying to severely punish a football player for basically acting entitled or saying the wrong thing in the sake of doing what is rt.

I only see doing what is best for the Redskins & ultimately that means getting rid of him in about a month. If they can get a pick great, but I don't see it happening. I will leave the moral issues for others.

IF he had cleaned up his act of his own accord I would probably feel different. But if the team had to basically put a gag order on him, I dont see that as him reforming so much as some one forcing him to sit down shut up and play nice.

I agree the Skins will and should do whats best for the team. And i admit to being more than a little harsh on the guy. Partly due to his entitlement complex, and probably more so for the reaction of Skins fans who felt he should be enabled even further.

Sure - why not have a $16M backup who possibly never plays. You also have to be nuts if you think that RG3 is going to take a pay cut just to sit on the bench. Get real - RG3 is gone by next month.

Consider the source. I believe that this poster actually believes that Spurrier was one of the better Redskins coaches - yikes.

That's no worse than the poster who said Mike Shanahan was the best HC the Skins have had.

I would say

1. Gibbs 1
2. George Allen
3. Gibbs 2
4. Lone Star Dietz
5. Shannahan/Marty tie

Aside from these, we have had some seriously shitty coaches.

Hopefully Gruden can drag his ass into the top three and avoid the shitty coach column

Shanny finished dead last 3 of 4 years losing double-digit games all three of those years and despite his current claims 4 years after the fact. Likely played a role in what you called the worst move in the history of the Redskins. How does that merit him a top 5 selection?

He was only here one year but I think Vince Lombardi deserves to be in the top 5. The team had a winning record under him that year. A first in many years at that time. I remembered how sad I was as a fan when we heard he had cancer.

Shanahan also took over one of the worst teams we have ever had, and left us in better shape than he found us.

He drafted Williams, Kerrigan, Morris (who was productive for us until we changed the offense), and had the foresight to draft Kirk Cousins who just MIGHT be our franchise QB. So despite the record, he left us in shit ton better shape than Spurrior, Zorn, Turner and quite a few others. HE got handed a shitty hand, and got fired to placate the golden child.

But tell me, who would you rank over him Zorn, Turner, Spurrior??

I wouldn't rank any of above mentioned in a positive ranking/mention. Zorn and Spurrier were in way over their heads though not really their fault. They should've never been hired in the first place. Turner didn't believe it was his job to motivate his team. At times that is the most important job, the only job, for a HC. Kudos to Spurrierfor the draftng of the playeers you mention above. And while it may be changing or blending in all together. I still view that as a GM job. So dap to Shanny the GM. Shanny the HC sucked swollen blue whale nuts.

Agreed. But I was trying to limit the list to coaches within our respective life times. And while Lombardi did good the one season he was here, I think its a blip on the radar when you think of him as a coach. 90% of the NFL public doesnt even know/remember he was the Skins coach before he passed.

I don't think you can minimize Lombardi's year. Sure he was only here a year but I think there was a change in philosophy in ownership. Two years later Allen was hired and a few years after Allen was Gibbs. Yes I know there were different owners but the culture change in Washington football started with the hiring of Lombardi.

Then came Snyder
