Well whiz...ya still have some time left on the clock...would you like to pick an avi of your choosing?
No, why would I? Again, I wouldn't care if you changed back to your own avi. All I cared about was Seattle moving on. I have no interest in rubbing your nose in it.

how do you figure?

Look how long running backs last in this league. Did you see Kapernick getting beat up trying to run? If you don't have the right players around him you're QB is going to get hit alot. Chips hard headed enough to have Mariota run that offense when he doesnt have the advantage like he did at Oregon. Unless you're built like Cam

Word is Oregon is zeroing in on Justin Wilcox as their next DC, but an official announcement may take a week or two as details are worked out.

Should have just gone after him from the start. I saw that on 247 as well.

I think Wilcox has the ability to make Oregon's D click. He seems to favor the bend but don't break style that Oregon has to run because of the offense. It didn't fit well with the more traditional O at USC, but I think it will get the Ducks back to where us fans have come to expect.

@mrwallace2ku You haven't changed your avi yet? It's the playoffs. Rep what you want to for these games. No need to keep that one up.

Nada on Wilcox. Hoke ends up the Ducks DC.

Hoke is proven recruiter and has the D experience. Just keep away from the offense and it should work out.

Played D in HS and all his coaching gigs before he became a HC was defensive roles.

So he's never been a D cord at any level? Almost sounds like Oregon has an idea what d they want to run ( their system) they just had to find a guy ( with enough of a name so their fans dont freak out) who would run what they want.

Lots of changes in Eugene this off season. That's for sure.

-- In February 1995, Hoke was hired as an assistant coach at the University of Michigan under head coach Gary Moeller. He was the defensive end coach in 1995 and 1996 and defensive line coach from 1997 to 2002. In May 2002, Michigan head coach Lloyd Carr named Hoke as associate head coach, the only member of the staff with that distinction.

During Hoke's eight years at Michigan, the Wolverines compiled a 75–23 record, went to a bowl game every year and won the national championship in 1997. While at Michigan, Hoke was assigned to recruit in California. One of the players Hoke recruited to Michigan was
Tom Brady.

If you read his bio, you will realize he knows defense. His recent job as HC as Michigan didn't work out, but his resume is extremely impressive. He's also known as one of the best recruiters in the biz. I'm not going to blow this hire off in anyway as a "Hoke was brought in to just run the Ducks already established system". He's a very capable coach on the D side of the ball and could quickly turn things around for the Ducks in that dept.

I really like the Yost hiring. On the fence with Hoke.
Ducks have done a better than average job of absorbing change and not having big drop offs due to adjustments. Sooner or later the law of averages should catch up to them, but it's far too early to know if these moves will collectively make them better or take some time to take hold.

Lots of changes in Eugene this off season. That's for sure.

Lots of significant changes all over the PAC with assistants this year. And this weekend marks the true end of the recruiting dead period so it's now balls to the wall till LOI for many schools trying to finish up their classes.

Huskies have

TE Jacob Kizer (committed to Washington)
WR Chris Taylor-Yamanoha (committed to Louisville, but could end a Husky on LOI)
DT Boss Tagaloa

visiting this weekend. And we'll be trying to get a few more potentials up here before Feb. Every school is out there pounding the pavement.

I wouldn't be shocked in the least if Hoke immediately goes to work and seals the deal on #1 JUCO DE Jonathan Kongbo by LOI.

Hoke did get hired just in the nick of time with the dead period ending, your right about that Rengent. And I think you're dead on about Kongbo. There are also other big fish out there with Caleb Kelly, Nigel Knott, Conner Murphy, Brandon Jones, and Keith Sims all still being in the mix for the Ducks. Should be an interesting couple of weeks.
