SO Miss is 9th total Offense
41 in rushing
12th in passing
12 in scoring

sounds like its gonna be a good SOMiss offense vs good UW defense
Average So miss Defense vs statistically bad UW offense but surging the last few weeks of the season so stats are missleading.

Schedule filling out nicely. Looking like the pac as a whole could finish with a solid bowl record too.

And I'll take the Heart of Dallas Bowl. No complaints from me. Are there any southern miss fans on here?

Freaking Stanford web site has set the automatic ticket packages at 100k donor level, existing season ticket holders get an allotment as well. The rest of us can enter a lottery for tickets. Thank goodness I have a friend with season tickets Hoping he comes through.

One of the key aspects of this matchup. Southern Miss avg 40 points a game this season while Washington sports the best defense in the PAC.

Southern Miss:

Led by junior quarterback Nick Mullens, running backs senior Jalen Richard and sophomore Ito Smith, and senior wide receivers Casey Martin and Mike Thomas, the Golden Eagles registered team season school records in completions (312), passing yards (4,263), total offensive yards (6,758) and touchdowns (67), and points (528).

Mullens has completed 63.4 percent of his passes (306 of 483) with 12 interceptions. He has compiled 4,145 yards passing with 36 scoring passes. Martin is the leading receiver with 74 catches for 855 yards and seven scores while Thomas is one of the nation’s leaders in receiving yards per game (1,201 yards, 100.1 average) with 62 catches and 12 scores.

Richard (1,098 yards, 14 TDs) and Smith (1,088, 8) form the second-best running back combination in the country behind Nevada's James Buttler and Don Jackson. The Golden Eagle backs have combined for 2,186 rushing yards and 22 scores while the Nevada duo combined for 2,612 rushing yards and 20 touchdowns.

The Southern Miss runners also have combined for 3,433 all-purpose yards (8.0 yards per touch) and 28 touchdowns - the second-best all-purpose tandem in the country. Led by Smith’s 44 pass catches, the pair has also combined for 74 receptions for 777 yards and five scores.

Most Big10 teams travel extremely well so tickets will be hard to get. Hope you can work it and get there.

You may end up having to Stub hub or Razorgator and pay a little extra

Does Iowa fit the typical Big 10 fan base though? I know this is a huge game for them, but wasn't there a thread a week or two ago trolling them for having a bunch of unsold tickets at the end of the year on the verge of their first undefeated season?

That's true, I couldn't believe that play. How do you not have someone on him at all times?

If it's the play I'm thinking of, where he broke open in the middle of the field on the play that was probably the killshot, he wasn't left unguarded. We were in a man to man defense, he stayed back to block and then released. That left a linebacker on him. A linebacker on a running back is fine, unless that running back happens to be a guy like McCaffrey. USC used to do that with Reggie Bush quite a bit.

He just blew by the linebacker like he was nailed to the ground.

They won't travel as well as a team like Ohio State, Mich, or Penn St., but still expect a respectable amount of tickets claimed by their fans. On the flip side, Stanford is one of those teams that every fan comes out of the woodwork when their playing at the Rose Bowl, especially with it in taking place in Cali. Tickets will be tight, but there should be plenty available on the reseller market. Rose is one of those bowls that always has a huge presence of corporate sponsors so they suck up inventory as well.

Yeah, he must have really been nailed down, I didn't even notice him. It looked like McCaffrey was just left totally unaccounted for. I have no issue taking your word for it, McCaffrey is the type who can make it look like the guy who's responsible for him isn't even there.

I like the match up with Wisconsin too

Me too. With USC becoming more of a physical team under Helfrich, that game with Wisconsin could be some real old school type football.

Love the holiday bowl. Definitely one worth going to when your team's in it.

Actually you can call me biased if you like but I think Oregon vs TCU and USC vs Wisconsin are better games than Houston vs FSU and Oklahoma State vs Ole Miss in the Big 6 bowls.

I agree. Both are solid match ups.
