Jesus I need to lay off the caffeine. I initially intended that to be like a one paragraph response. 5 minutes later I hit post, scroll up and see that.

Those are my thoughts on Sark and his future at USC and his departure at UW.

Yeah man, huge post is huge...

Let me sum it up like this:

It's like when you are dating that chick that is maybe slightly above average and ok in bed, but annoys you enough that you want to look elsewhere, but you also aren't sure if you can find a better chick so you sort of stay with that one and keep making up excuses as to why you are staying.

Then after she dumps you for a guy you know you are initially not happy, but after you find a major upgrade with a seriously hot chick who is good in the sack AND doesn't annoy you, you are happy as a pig in shit that she left and you know you are going to smile every time you look at the dude she went with knowing how much BS he is going to have to put up with.

I just find it funny that Huskies fans are suddenly experts on USC, USC level talent and can foresee the future.

Under both Pete Carroll and Lane Kiffin, USC was typically one of the more penalized teams in the country and won anyway.

USC will win it's conference, the PAC and likely another NC, before the Huskies will even win the North.

Sorry man, but no matter how happy you think you are with here now, she is still going to annoy you later.

You have to forgive him. He is a little sensitive about what others say about his HC. Was like that with lame kitten too. Seems to make him a bit crazy. :noidea:

I'm happy for them. We got a MUCH better upgrade and they got what their fans appear to want. Everyone should be happy shouldn't they?

Actually, it is Huskies who get sensitive and emotional. As for everyone being happy, USC fans are very happy.

UW fans seem to be the ones who can't stop worrying about Sark.

Perfect analogy. :10:

worrying? Not on your life. We are happy as can be and have told you so. We KNOW what you are going to get from him and very much looking forward to it. It will be nice to maintain the North's dominance for the foreseeable future. All we have to do is knock off Oregon and the conference is ours again. As it should be.

You rarely see USC posters posting about UW and never about their coach (other than to congratulate them).

Yet you see lots of posts from Huskies about Sark and USC predicting mediocre results, etc.

Nope, your not worried or bothered at all.

Bottom line is that both schools got coaches who are likely great fits for their program and none of us truly know exactly how it's going to play out. I can give you plenty of reasons why Petersen may not work out for UW.

However, I'd rather concern myself with USC.

I guess that's the difference between being a true traditional power and UW.

I cannot speak for the other posters but yes, I was extremely upset when Sark left.

Why? Because I thought it showed little integrity on his part. I was not upset Sark was leaving the program, I was upset with how he did it. The least he could have done was waited until the end of the season and when everything was wrapped up to leave. I mean for christ sake his players found out on twitter, facebook and ESPN before he even told them, that's messed up.

To reiterate, we were upset not that Sark was no longer our head coach, but the manner he handled his leaving..

That is the perfect summary of how some Dawg fans felt when he "quit", nicely said SF234....

No, you see lots of posts about Oregon and the odd one about USC, which in this case was actually brought up by Mamba who (as he usually does) was trying to stir up the shit and get us off his ass for a few minutes. Nice try though.

It's the off season bro. There will be a few nuggets of information and things worth talking about surrounded by lots of taunting and friendly ribbing and mixed with some of those famous mamba list threads or other stuff meant to keep us occupied until the season starts. You just can't take all of this so darned personally man. We love you like a bro, but we also love picking on your team. It's what college fans do.

:suds:

And Mamba, it won't work. No matter how many times you try to troll us into fighting with USC fans we won't ever forget to involve you as well.

Im sure its marked along with are comments earlier as to the "upset in Eugene" that some of us Dawg fans proclaimed.

And I'm sure SC fans are feeling they have "their guy" leading their program once again and hopes are high, but at the same time Dawg fans feel that the hire of Petersen is also "our guy" to bring the program back from the ashes, so Im sure there is gonna be some lines drawn and some serious talk back and forth, which is normal, but when Petersen does pull off the wins that should've been happening by now, remember the "Willingham card" played cause that flat out fuels a fire that us Dawg fans didn't enjoy his tenure here but was needed......

Well considering in my wall of text I said that I think Sark is a great fit and is unlikely win less than 9 games in his tenure at USC due to the talent that school brings in, I'd assume you'd take that as a compliment.

The Lane Kiffin comparisons are ridiculous. Kiffin held that USC team back, Sark won't hold them back, he just won't push them ahead when they play top 5-10 teams. I don't doubt that Sark will win a lot of games for you, but I just have a strong feeling he won't win the games against teams with comparable talent to USC (which luckily for you guys won't be more than 5-10 teams in the country, if that).

All Oregon references aside you guys will probably win a lot of games under Sark and have quite a few top 10 finishes, but I just cannot see him ever winning a national title. Luckily for you guys he will probably have an impressive run, rack up a good number of wins then ditch USC for the NFL before the concerns about his ability to take the next step arise.

TLDR VERSION:
Sark will win 95% of games against non-top 10 opponents, but will really struggle against top 10 opponents.

As I said before I stay away from the Oregon conversation as much as possible for obvious reasons. I'm of the "Not gonna talk shit unless I can back it up" variety. We will see how Petersen's team handles the games leading up to the one in Autizm, then go from there. But I'm more than happy to go on a nice rant about how Oregon represents everything that is wrong with college athletics.

In YOUR mind maybe. Everyone else knew that ASU had more talent. In fact, ASU has had some of the more talented teams in the PAC for several years, they just couldn't ever put it together.

During the Pete Carroll era, ASU was supposed to be one of 2 main threats to knock off USC, they just couldn't get it done.

Then, up until last year, they had very talented teams that fell apart in the 2nd half of the season because they were undisciplined. Don't try and act like ASU is nothing but 2 star players.

I wouldn't say that. Going by the Scout.com rankings since 2002 ASU has only finished in the top half of the conference in recruiting twice, 2002 and 2008. A lot of the high rated players in the 2008 class either turned out to be busts and never saw the field or failed to qualify academically.

The one season I will say ASU did have a ton of talent and chocked was 2011. Before being decimated by injuries in the offseason that team had top 10 talent and even afterwards had top 20 talent. The problem is most of those players were head cases and the coach had already checked out. They quit at the first sign of adversity.

LOL - Great post. Then all the Husky dreamers respond and every single one of them mention Oregon in their rebuttal -- damn talk about obsession.
