I am very leery of USC traveling to Pullman this season.

Always a dangerous team that will lose to teams it has no business losing to and beat someone they probably shouldn't.

Last year it was beating (then) #15 Stanford in their house
Year before it was #18 UCLA in their house
In '13 it was @ #25 USC
'12 it was #25 UW

Eh, the only team we had no business beating was $C. Maybe the Mutts cause you were blowing our doors off but talent wise we were as good as Stanford or UCLA at the time we played them.

Is Oregon anywhere close to what they were? Nope. You guys said there was no drop off after Chip.
Think the offense is on par with Chips. Defense is getting there. Recruiting is now ahead of Chip. Time will tell. Ya we all swung and missed with Helfrich - me included.

To be honest I have yet to watch this years version of the Ducks. I just know its not Chip level because coming from where you guys were last year I can't see that dramatic of a change. As far as recruits . You guys never recruited like other schools. You recruited for your system which was a different skill set . So higher ranked class might not mean the same. What type of offense is your new coach going to run? Similar to the old one ?

The talent is somewhere in the neighborhood on offense to that era, although Herbert is not even close to the level of Mariota at this point. And they aren't running anything inventive which is a big part of the edge they had back then.

The question that hasn't been answered yet is the coaching compared to Chip's. That team has to go into the fire and come out on top against a quality opponent before anyone will give them any type of credit at all. By that I mean play in a game where you might not be at your best or otherwise trail and find a way to win anyway.

Until then they are a somewhat talented and dangerous team you better take seriously. But then that describes most of the middle tier teams in the Pac.

What I found interesting is WSU has defeated exactly one ranked (at the time they played) team in every season under leach but one. Never defeated two.

So go get USC and be done with it already. :heh:

Oregon wasn't ranked last year?

And y'all don't have to worry. The AC will be for the North title again and Leach has never won a division title in all his years as a HC.
