South is as wide open as I ever recall seeing it. I do think maybe USC at this time, but I'm not confident in that.

So you agree then that he's the best at reads? I mean we could go on and on with this if you like. It is your thing. I like him, you not so much. Not nearly as much. In fact you wish he was never born. Fact.

I have no idea how a person would even know that. How many reads do they have on every given play? What if its not a read its just looking one way to fool the saftey. Pro QBs have three reads at most before they have to get rid of the ball. Maybe his line is blocking the other teams D line better than youve ever seen and so he has time for one extra read? I just dont give college QBs that much credit. They can be taught to change a play pre snap if they see a certain look. But I havent seen a Peyton manning at the college level changing plays pre snap like he did with the Broncos

Best line I recall UW having was in the 90's. So no. Their line in the mid 80's wasn't bad either.

Well here's the difference Ive seen with Darnold. he makes up his mind who to go to noticably faster than Browne. His balls out there quick and the WRs are either open in space or he's hitting them in stride and he's going to the open guy not just the star WRs.

If you think your O line will prevent your team from reaching the CCG, who do you actually like from the south then? USC? Utah?
I would have to say Utah at this point.

They were flirting with winning the South last year and their one loss was on the road by less than a TD. I think they have another loss in them but I think so does USC and ASU. Colorado is close to where Utah was last year. They will need another year before they are in the actual mix.

To be fair, I also pretty much watch every UW game at least twice. Losses too so it's not about just to celebrate wins again. And I didn't do much of that more than 10 years ago. Hell, probably not 5 years ago. DVR's have changed how we do things. So I watch the games I go to live and then come back and review it later. I do watch fairly closely things like check offs and protection changes, shifts, and play reactions. I just love the game so I do check that shit out. I'm sure that clouds my judgement because I didn't do that years ago. And it's easy to love Browning over Cyler fucking Miles or Price or even Locker.

What's with all of these kids coming into college and playing as true freshmen that can run offenses with this much ability so quickly? I mean not just Rosen and Browning, but now Herbert at Oregon and others.

Well we play all 3 of them and only Utah is a road game so there's that. Utah also travels to Colorado so that one could be interesting.

It's these passing leagues, passing coaches and camps they go to now. They just have a lot more reps from pop warner to high school before they get to college.

It's far more than their ball control. There is a reason no other true freshman has ever started for UW. They aren't making many mistakes. Not forcing plays or taking unnecessary risks. Not a lot of INTs and have the ability to read defenses as if they have been there 4 years already. It's just crazy.

Ahhh this is what I remember from my youth. Stanford sucks, and everything is about the dawgs, it is like living in Seattle all over again.

UW fans congrats, you have a legit team, WSU quit fucking up the "pre"-season, you kicked my boys square in the taint.

I cannot wait to take this Avi off. Although, due to the last 2 losses, I have to teach in a WSU shirt and a UW shirt sometime this month. To make it worse I have to do it at a PAC South school, if I get lynched I blame you fuckers for me thinking 8-5 to 10-2 was a realistic goal for my team.....yes I blamed you for my high hopes.

For the Rivals new kids, this is me, tongue firmly in cheek.

Looks like that worse case scenario for the storm today is now assured. Storm isn't swinging north to Canada. Wind gusts north of 65mph likely all around the area. Where we are always gets amplified wind because of the mountain. We might see gusts of 75mph around this neighborhood.

And of course it's going to hit just in time for the late games. Might be able to catch the early two games, but the afternoon ones will be right during the storm and we pretty much never survive these without losing power. Why couldn't this shit hit on Sunday?

Proposed Raider stadium in Vegas. I hope this happens because I'd like to see the PAC championship games moved to Vegas.

ssssshhhh.....

Ryan Nall..."The Human Bulldozer" is going to work today w/ one leg. Should be enough for a buck fifty in run total.

Kid's a load like none other I have seen in a while, just needs an O-line to open up a seam to get thru is all. The closest runner to Ryan, that I can think of from past lore is Trojan RB OJ Simpson. Now that is saying a lot, I know...but this kid has size, speed and strength at finishing his runs. Give Nall an O-line and I will show you a Heisman.

NFL GMs are drooling...

cheers...

To the Wazzu poster who said UW's WR's wouldn't start for WSU.

Scout: UW's John Ross will be better pro than Brandin Cooks
Scout: UW's John Ross will be better pro than Brandin Cooks

The scoop: "John Ross is probably the fastest player in college football right now and I think he's going to end up being a better pro than Brandin Cooks. (Jake) Browning is a solid quarterback, but Ross is making his life really easy." -- NFC scout on the Washington WR

The skinny: Washington is one of the hottest teams in college football right now and Browning, UW's sophomore quarterback, is getting his share of national notice. It might be flying under the radar, but Ross, a junior, is piling up touchdowns. Between receptions (30), rushes (4) and kick returns (5), Ross has just 39 touches, but his 11 total touchdowns show just how dangerous he is when the ball is in his hands. Ross has average size (5-foot-11, 190 pounds, per school measurements) and will be viewed as a slot option with return abilities at the next level, but his elite speed will be tantalizing for scouts.

Move The Sticks notebook: Scouts doubting Miami's Brad Kaaya
The next T.Y. Hilton? I've already expressed my excitement for Washington WR John Ross' potential as a WR1 with a tweet and note following his standout performance last week against Oregon, but I'm not alone in my belief in his potential as a pro playmaker.

An NFC scout who recently visited Washington told me that Ross is "one of the most polished receivers" that he's seen in recent years and he is a better overall prospect than Houston Texans rookie Will Fuller and Cleveland Browns rookie Corey Coleman. The scout added that Ross' combination of hands and ball skills should make him a "true No. 1" receiver instead of a complementary deep threat in a vertical passing game. I not only agree with his assessment, but I would suggest that he could develop into a T.Y. Hilton-like playmaker in an offense that places a premium on route running and RAC ability (run after catch). Considering how the league is shifting to a pass-happy emphasis with teams intent on featuring pass-catchers as their marquee offensive weapons, more evaluators should become enamored with Ross as they take a look at his game. -- Bucky Brooks

Noone is questioning Ross is skilled, but he would be third best receiver on our team. Marks and Cracraft are better receivers.

Olympia so far has been very wet, some thunder and lightning still no big winds. they are saying this afternoon into night, but not over night, we will see more. so for the most part I think we will get some of it but not the brunt.
