Maybe if Ty hadn't inherited a team of criminals and helmet wearing mouth breathers from previous staff his team could have played the plan he laid out. Remember, he took a soft team like Stanford to the Rose Bowl.

Oh so it was Walsh's fault that James did not pay attention to improper benefits from boosters?

good-good-let-the-jimmies-rustle-through-you.png
You should have stopped two post ago. Now you're just talking stupid.

Ty's conference record with UW:

1 - 7
3 - 6
2 - 7
0 - 9

Ty had some talent to work with and he continually blamed his teams for not having enough talent to compete in the conference. He was a pos.

As far as Don James is concerned ... Billy Joe Hobert got a loan from a UW booster while he was playing golf with him in Idaho. There was no fvking way Don James knew about that. It got even worse then the PAC wouldn't allow UW's lawyers to cross examine the witnesses. It was a fvkng kangaroo investigation with the outcome decided before it ever began. Feel free to read the NYT piece on it. Even the WSU, UO and OSU HC's said it was bs.

run-n-shoot? It's the "fernizzle of CF".

wasn't that long ago i heard from engenoland, "Next Man Up".

wtfs wrong with you tonite?
Andersen is a defensive coach, not offensive. He recruits pro style QB's when what he really wants is a dual threat QB. He reminds of a lot of Kyle Whittingham at Utah.

As far as Don James goes .. it was that pos HC at Stanford who had the conference fvk Washington seven ways to Sunday. He got the other CAL-4 schools to back him and when it was all said and done even the NCAA said there was no way they would have punished UW football to the extent the PAC did. I guess the CAL-4 schools got tired of having Don James put his dick up their arse.

so many open weeping wounds in a university's history...

Bill Walsh never beat a Don James coached team. UW was pumping the CAL-4 schools like a hot runaway teen at a Motel 6. The CAL-4 schools are the ones with the big bucks and it comes down to them when they want something.

no…i believe GA approves of the CF QB that's thinks on his feet as well as with the head. His QB needs exit speed on read option or pull back and fire the 10-15 yard catch and RAC.

amirite?
That kid that played vs UW last season .. can't remember his name but he had a strong arm and played a good game. The only reason he was in that game is because two QB's before him got hurt. That kid should have been playing from the start of the season imo.

Your argument on Ty is weak in that no matter his record at UW he did just fine at Stanford, a team with far less talent.

1995 7-4-1, Liberty Bowl
1996 7-5, Sun Bowl
1997 5-6
1998 3-8
1999 8-4, Rose Bowl
2000 5-6
2001 6-5

At Notre Dame
2002 10-3, Gator Bowl
2003 5-7
2004 6-5, Insight Bowl

He had a winning record at schools with athletes that were expected to think and play. Yet at UW with the crew of criminals left to him by Neuheisel and Gilbertson he lost, hmmm interesting.

Keep in mind I despise Ty for how he did Stanford, but I love seeing you try to defend Don and trash Ty, when the one thing Ty did better than Don was graduate players.

Or did you forget that you posted about APR earlier, seems you care about it now when it is strong but yo did not care under James when it was low and who laid that foundation to bring it up again.

He was pure fvking shit at UW and he should have kept his gob shut in front of the press instead of blaming his losses on lack of talent. The only reason he lasted as long at the UW as he did was because the dumb cvnt UW AD wanted to look politically correct. Ty also failed at ND. He had one good season there and then his teams started to look like shit hence the reason they canned his ass.

He had a winning record at every school other than UW. Is it the coach or the players then?

Oh and on Don James, as a Seattle native I am well aware of the piece the NYT wrote on this (I was living with several Stanford players when the 1992 shit hit the fan) I will keep my personal opinions to my self.

Here is the NYT piece you cited:

FOOTBALL; Huskies' Don James Quits Over Penalties

Here are two LA Times blurbs:

Drug Ring Has Husky Connection : Washington: One football player and three former athletes are charged.

Investigating Huskies Not Easy : Scandal: Pac-10's Price interviewed 225 while building his case against Washington.

Oh and from Wikipedia where fans can edit if they want:

During the 1992 season, it was revealed that several Huskies players had received improper benefits. Among them, starting quarterback Billy Joe Hobert had received a series of loans totaling $50,000 made by a friend's father-in-law.[4] While this was not an institutional violation (Hobert was deemed ineligible as a result, but the program was not punished), this was the first of a series of investigative reports by the Seattle Times and Los Angeles Times that eventually led to the Pacific-10 Conference and NCAA investigations. These led to charges that Washington exhibited "lack of institutional control" over its handling of recruiting funds for on-campus visits, in which player hosts allegedly kept money or gave it to recruits, and turned in false expense forms (amounts cited in the report were $80). It was also charged that a booster ran a summer jobs program that employed more than 50 Husky athletes since the 1970s that either paid for work that was not performed or were not given enough work to merit their salaries.[5] The Huskies received sanctions from both the NCAA and Pacific-10 Conference, though notably James and the coaching staff were not specifically cited as having broken any rules. James resigned from his head coaching position on August 22, 1993, in protest of what he considered unfair sanctions against his team.[6] James later clarified that he was protesting what he felt was a betrayal by then University President William Gerberding, who, against James' wishes, argued in favor of altering the penalties against the program from a two-year TV revenue ban and one-year bowl ban, to a one-year TV revenue ban and two-year bowl ban.[7]

The LA Times isn't worth the paper it's written on. It's your typical California rag with about zero credibility. The sanctions the PAC laid on UW were totally fvkn insane.

And again Willingham sucked ass at ND and lost his job because of it and he sucked ass while at UW. He never got another coaching gig after the UW one to my knowledge.

Did he or did he not have a winning record there?

So only papers that agree with you are worth the paper they are written on? Hasn't your AVI said that the NYT is fake news?

So should we rule out both papers on their reporting on Don?

I bet AVI's or dignity. My standard (non AVI) bet is the winner buys the loser a work appropriate shirt and the losr then must post a video of them wearing that shirt and acknowledging the loss on camera (posted to FB and Twitter).

For AVI bets the winner gets to pick a football related image for me to wear for a week.

Dig deep enough and you can find me putting on a Utah shirt 3 years ago, SC polo in 2014, or a WSU polo and a UW Hawaiian shirt this year in front of my students.

So if you want to bet something other than fake money I am game.

I notice you ignored my points in many of my posts, is that a smart move or an inability to refute evidence?

AVI bet for a week then? Even odds ... no points seeing how the game is in Palo Alto this year.

I can argue my cause until the cows come home and I'm not going to change your mind and vice versa. It had to stop at some point.

I never need points, straight up is fine. Though I would rather do the shirt bet with you.
