So we should all predict how we think the media will rank the teams in their vote.

Not what you think, but how the media predicts it.

A preseason contest if you will. Who gets closest.

I predict that every team will will be upbeat about their chances and most of the kids they bring will be boring during question sessions.

I think the media isn't buying Leach with Wazzou anymore and they will hold UCLA's lack of an experienced QB against them.

Probably a little more accurate...

Kevin Hogan Sr. Stanford
Cody Kessler Sr. USC

Also I wouldn't be surprised if Michael Bercovici makes some hay in the Manning Award before it is all said and done with WR Devin Lucin transferring....

UCLA has Rosen a Freshman probably winning the job over schnuheisel
which wont go over well for the passing game
and Arizona with Solomon there always seem to be a Sophmore slump.
thats why I have Utah ahead of those two. plus Booker's going to run alot and hes the best in the PAC12 hands down.

So sometime between two weeks ago and now you have "downgraded" Oregon State 3-4 spots. Beautiful!

Remember this name and hope he NEVER sees green in front of him for years to come.

Paul Lucas.

"Max Preps believes Lucas may have been the fastest player in the country last season. That kind of speed is difficult to ignore and hard to keep off the field."

Couple this kid with Victor Bolden and PAC has a duel threat WR problem to deal with out of the gate. Oh yeah, and Frosh QB Seth Collins be running the "spread option" as well.

You have some "splainin to do" Lucy.

In essence I agree with OD. The media thinks of the PAC as a QB driven league so returning QB's get some love.

North:

Oregon : They have (if he finishes his degree) a 5th year QB transferring in, key parts of the D intact and were the champs last year. The even year schedule could cost them in the rankings with media though, they have some tough road games this year.

Stanford:Getting love from the media for Kevin Hogan and 8 returners on O. Defense is questioned, but most reports I see indicate that the media likes the recruits Stanford has stepping up on that side of the ball. The even year schedule favors Stanford in many of their match ups as well.

California: Would not be surprised if they got ranked ahead of Stanford, Goff is getting a lot of media love. They have some strong WR, but their D is still suspect. On the flip side, the even year schedule for CAL is brutal and they could get dropped one spot by the media. At Oregon, At Stanford At UCLA are all tough games for a team like CAL.

Washington: Petersen is liked and respected, he has 2 more years to turn things around before the husky faithful go crazy. The media respect him and, given the relative weakness of the north compared to south, they have a chance to do well in the media's mind. However, they have a brutal 3 game stretch (@SC, V Oregon, @ Stanford).

Wash St: Leach is on the hot seat, but people seem to be impressed that the QB may go under center more than once a game. The media also seems to think his new D coordinator may make a difference in the sieve that was the WSU D last year. Schedule is not favorable to them in the even years either.

Oregon State:GA is a new coach there, but a known entity in the PAC and national media. They have struggled the last few years, so I think the media gives them a low grade this year as a rebuilding year. Schedule is not brutal, but some of their easiest games to win are on the road which could make the season a long one.

South:

USC: The media seems to think A. Jackson and Kessler are legit Heisman contenders, so I think USC will get lots of medial love. The even year schedule for them is not any harder than the odd years, though they do get Oregon at Oregon.

UCLA:Perhaps the best set of returning starters on D, but a young QB or the son of a former coach cost them with the media. However, other than their Oct. game at Stanford and ending the season @Utah and @SC the schedule in the even year will buy them some votes since it is not particularly tough in terms of road vs. home game teams they play.

Arizona State: Strong defensive starters and a feature back with a QB that has seen game action will get ASU a lot of love from the media. They might step above UCLA in the voters minds because of how the even year schedule lays out for them and they miss Stanford this year.

Arizona: Sophomore QB could be the real deal but their road game schedule is brutal. Rich Rod has recruited well but I think the media questions their secondary right now and it will cost them votes.

Utah: The media loves Utah and their RB, with good reason in my mind, but they are in a very talented south. However, this years schedule favors them slightly so they could get a bit more love than I predict.

Colorado: We may see an improvement in their W/L record given the patsies they have to start the year. They are, however, at the bottom of perhaps the toughest division in they P-5.

CCG: Here is where I disagree with OD I think the media will pick SC over Oregon based on Kessler's pre-season hype. The media forgets that Sark's teams have a habit of making a ton of game changing penalties when it really matters.
