Oregon once again represents the league’s best shot at the playoff. If the Ducks can win out, there’s no way the committee leaves out a one-loss Pac-12 champion with wins over Michigan State, UCLA and Stanford. But we’ve learned through the first seven weeks of the season that “ifs” are essentially meaningless. We’re just throwing darts until we actually see how the committee reacts.

And with that in mind, here is this week’s comedic attempt to make sense of this league. As always, salt heavily.

College Football Playoff: Oregon
Fiesta Bowl: Arizona
Valero Alamo Bowl: Stanford
National University Holiday Bowl: UCLA
San Francisco Bowl: Arizona State
Hyundai Sun Bowl: USC
Royal Purple Las Vegas Bowl: Washington
Cactus Bowl: Cal
Heart of Dallas Bowl*: Utah

Lolz @ me Beavers going nowhere here.

BTW...

"The road to the natty playoffs for Oregon are paved thru Corvallis this year."

Bummer Duckiez!

Feel the same with Beavers OC Garrett over Langedorf from past Whiz. At least Langendorf had a clue IF a gameplan was stalling and needed adjustments, wish the guy NEVER LEFT now. Garrett must be scart being a 1st time OC or something. Wants to run a blanced O all the time, well guess what Garrett...

THAT AINT ALWAYS GOING TO HAPPEN..ANTICIPATE, ADAPT AND ADJUST to the given situation moron.

THE UTES ARE COMING TO TOWN IN 3 FUCKING DAYS!

BTW...

IF your done with JS, could you fill his car up with gas and send him home to Corvallis please. He will be welcomed with open arms.
I don't have anything personal against Smith. Wish he would turn the ship around, but looking at his short history of OC work and the results he hasn't brought with the talent he had coming in, it just seems like he is in over his head. Ross proved in the Cal game why only giving him the ball TWICE against Stanford was criminal! And running the same bubble screen over and over and watching fail makes one . UW has a very experienced and deep O line. No reason they can't be opening running lanes and giving Miles time in the pocket. It has to be more a function of scheme and play calls than talent.

The more I watch Miles, the more I wish they'd take the step back to Lindquist or Williams and work on next year because Miles won't be the starter next season. His throwing action is fucking horrible and he flat out can't hit a kid on a quick out or even screen in stride. He just can't.

So I know Smith isn't working with a fully loaded gun, be he is still being super predictable and not adjusting in game AT ALL. They just keep running the same failed plays over and over for another 3 and out.

Better start improving on that over the next couple of games or it won't be just me banging his exit drum I can tell you that.

Question for the group

*If* Shaq played in the SEC do you think espin and other media outlets would be hyping him for the Heisman? Pretend for a moment that it hasn't become a QB award.

The guy is doing amazing things on the field right now.

He's on pace for 10tds for those not paying attention...

Of course.

Even if he played for Oregon he would be getting it.

Even a few knowledgable cfb fans haven't heard of him.

It's a travesty.

If Washington had been good for a few years prior to this he would be getting all due hype.

ESPN controls cfb talk and UW and many other above avg teams aren't on their radar at all.

They get zero mentions.

It is Jameis, SEC, SEC West, Oregon, Oky, Texas :noidea: , a little ND, B1G bashing, and that's about it.

.

I think the next QB at UW will be KJ. When it happens, who knows. :noidea:

He's one of Petes guys and he's more in the mold of what Coach Pete looks for in a QB. He is the next man up imo. He would be at BSU if Petersen were still the coach.

As far as PAC goes you get a sprinkle of UCLA here and there and SC more than that.

UWUBs prob is at the QB position I believe. Solve that and rest falls in place with a good O-line.

As for OC JS, happens a lot more in the Pac than you think Whiz. Matter of fact, ALL teams have the same issue of 8 O plays with options on each basic play. Problem starts with the QB not being able to check down thru his progressions fast enough OR an O-line that can't protect long enough.

What I miss are the plays that used against aggressive D-lines that my O-line CAN'T complete with. Cue the quick slants, draws and various screens all designed to take advantage of said aggressive Ds. IF a basic gameplan is going nowhere early, go to these type plays sooner so a team can then go back to the original gameplan and carryon.

The lack of coaches "adapting and adjusting" earlier is beyond me. They say,"Don't abandon the run game to early.."

Well I say, "shit-can it til we can put out the dumpster-fire called "D-Pressure"...THEN we can go back and run the rwak as originally planned"

Far to often, I have seen me Beavs wait to long to adjust when the problem should have been addressed immediately instead of latter in a game.

THE FUCKING UTES ARE COMING IN 3 DAYS YOU MORONS! GAMEPLAN FOR PRESSURE EARLY!

Yeah.

I'm dreaming of all the good that could happen in the game this week.

Just think if Shaq returns a game winner @ Autzen.

That would force those dummies to take notice.

Not to mention all the fun UW fans would have with it in light of 'the pick'. :yahoo:

One can dream!!!

Coach Pete builds an elite team and ESecPN will have to throw us some bones. You have to work harder in the PAC outside LA to get props and airtime, but so be it. EastCoast bias doesn't even phase us anymore. Id say the current state of our refs is the most pressing issue right now.

The Shaq play got plenty of attention on the major network recap shows so that's solid. Heisman always favors QB and offensive position players, so that's that.

But he landing on the watch lists for all-American and position awards is what matters. Also put all that positive attention towards recruiting to build class quality.
