It was blowing when I turned it on about 4a...I thought Kuch played a solid round...Rory played a great round with his high ball.

Ok heard an interview with Koepka after round 1 and although many guys do this I hope he shoots 80.
Something to the effect.
"I hit a great shot. We made bogey".

10's probably a fair number. I'm sure the drainage on this course is light years ahead of my public course. Loosing balls on perfect tee shots in the middle of the fairway because they plug so much, if you can find the ball you have to figure out how much you're going to sink on the swing or else you'll just be blasting mud (you basically have to play everything as a long bunker shot), impossible to get relief from the water pooling on the greens, wind whipping everything around, ... It's not the type of golf you can take very seriously. Just swing soft, keep the ball low, have fun, and think nasty thoughts about the fair weather golfers that saturate the courses during good weather who wouldn't think about going out with even a slight drizzle. MANS GOLF!

It's fun. You just have to have the right attitude about it. I'll go in the winter when it's not a complete swamp and there's no frost. One time I went out and the green I hit into was frozen over with a hard sheet of ice. I showed up thinking I was going to get turned away but the guy said 'fuck it, go out if you want'. I'm 150 out, hit a real nice iron shot to the center of the green, it hit harder than it would have on the cart path (literally, there was at least 1/4 inch thick sheet of ice covering most of the green), and ended up in the river about 20 feet behind the green on the hop. I remember it vividly because it was Russell Wilson's rookie year the day he lost to the Falcons in that heartbreaker. I was so pissed off after the first half I said fuck it! I'm going golfing and missed the entire comeback.

I've played in some monsoon type weather in a tournament once. It rained for probably 3+ hrs, but the wind was blowing flags sideways 20-25 mph sustained at Myrtle beach on year. The rule we had, if the course is open, play continues.

Day one of the tourney a par 3 150ish...downhill over water most players were hitting 9 or 8...on this day, the wind was into on that hole...I hit 4i, some guys were hitting woods...we finished all 18 holes...wearing a gortex suit...clothes got a little wet not bad, some guys were totally drenched...it made me a believer!

Yeah, weather is looking to improve over the weekend though. I wouldn't be surprised if Rory put on a charge over the weekend to challenge. He played really well today.
