... to play in a BCS game and be recognized for having multi-year football APRs in the top 10%. The only other BCS schools recognized were Miami, Duke, Northwestern, Ohio State, Rutgers, and Vanderbilt.

BSU ACADEMICS: The NCAA has honored the football program for its performance for the second straight year. The NCAA announced its Public Recognition Awards on Thursday. The honorees are those teams that finish among the top 10 percent in the nation in their sport based on Academic Progress Rate. The actual APR numbers for 2010-11 will be released Wednesday. The football team was Boise State’s only award winner. Other football winners included Clemson, Middle Tennessee, Duke, Northern Illinois, Northwestern, Rice, Rutgers, Ohio State, Air Force, Miami and Vanderbilt. Boise State is the only team on that list to finish in the top 20 in the final Associated Press Top 25.
