i'm sure day sits around and listens to everything holtz says.Ah...I have an idea now.
Holtz stupposedly said, "Ryan Day's teams aren't tough enough to win big games."

Apparently, he did this time. It's possible to listen to everything Holtz says if you have the proper translator.i'm sure day sits around and listens to everything holtz says.
You seem rather bitter. How did OU make out against him? Oh, never mind. lolApparently, he did this time. It's possible to listen to everything Holtz says if you have the proper translator.
I believe OU was 1-1 vs Lou Holtz. You seem rather bitter. How did OU make out against him? Oh, never mind. lol
I know of one game he coached against OU, and in a bowl game. Wasn't OU a three touchdown favorite?I believe OU was 1-1 vs Lou Holtz.
Yes.I know of one game he coached against OU, and in a bowl game. Wasn't OU a three touchdown favorite?
That's a famous upset.Yes.
1978 Orange Bowl
Arkansas 31, Oklahoma 6
21-24-point favorites
Holtz suspended 3 starters. They were already heavy underdogs. Both teams were 10-1...both losing to Texas; Arkansas 13-9 and Oklahoma 13-6.
#1 Texas (11-0) got their doors blown off by #5 Notre Dame (10-1) 38-10 in the Cotton Bowl.
That left the door open for OU to finish #1, but they got their asses kicked also. Notre Dame (11-1) was crowned National Champions.
Oh...just think if there had been a playoff.
(1)Texas (11-0) vs (8)Ohio St (9-2)
(4)Michigan (10-1) vs (5)Notre Dame (10-1)
(2)Oklahoma (10-1) vs (7)Penn St (10-1)
(3)Alabama (10-1) vs (6)Arkansas (10-1)
In case anyone is curious...YES, this would've been awesome.
The best news out of this game besides the final score, is MHJ is good to go. That injury was a sight I want to forget from last season with JSN.
i'm sure day sits around and listens to everything holtz says.
I’ve never seen Day so animated and fired up before. He did lol
But I love to see it. If I had one criticism of Day it's his passion at times. This is needed for the rest of the year
'I'd like to know where Lou Holtz is': Ryan Day talks Ohio State 'toughness' after ND win
Minutes after Ohio State's 17-14 win against Notre Dame, Ryan Day responded to Lou Holtz.www.dispatch.com
I know that was heartbreaking. Been there. This was a hell of a game. Hate that we lost and the way that we lost, 10 men in the field last two plays is inexcusable
For sure the most critical play had we lost.Stupid penalty Fryar. Costly.
I thought so, too. Unnecessary but thought you were allowed to jump on a guy to stop him from getting up if play going on.That’s a bull shit call but I’ll take it
so easy to say after the call. I'd have gone with the sneak, but do that and fail and it's "why sneak? Once you go under center they know it's coming (and in that case they really do)?"Ryan Day with another failed playcall on 4th and 1. This dude just can't figure out the short game. Sadly this play call was predictable and easy for ND to sniff it out.
Unhinged.I’ve never seen Day so animated and fired up before.
Said a bit more than just ND would win.as if they needed lou holtz to fire them up. what did they expect him to say? osu would win?
It would be nice to see him a little more fired up than he normally is, but OSU usually has even keeled calm coaches. Tressel… urb.Unhinged.
Have to say he was right. One bad half all last season really. Yet media, CFB fans and many of our own fans thought overrated, soft, Day needs to go, etc.
I'd say he seems as fired up as most coaches during games. Never thought of him as quiet and reserved on sideline. It would be nice to see him a little more fired up than he normally is, but OSU usually has even keeled calm coaches. Tressel… urb.
But have no problem with him responding to Holtz. Always liked him but if you are going to say stuff like that expect to be responded to
So this is what Lou Holtz actually said? Sounds fairly accurate. He did lol
