Custance being Custance. What was said was the Jackets won't sign him before the deadline, not that a deal will never be reached just that Duchene wants to hear what others have to say. As was known. He has said all along that he would listen o the market. Belief locally is that he knows what the Jackets offer is, and he is listening to others. He and his agent know how silly an offer needs to be for him to take it, and he will give the Jackets a chance to match.
