Everything's good here. Clear and mild. Finally got that old maple stump burned. It's still smoldering, so I'm hoping there won't be much left.

The hardest part was last yr. I had cut down a long-dead pine from the very back of my place in the summer of 2010. The village took the branches, but wouldn't take the trunk, so I cut it into 18-24 inch sections and stacked 'em on my patio. Then last spring, I split 'em all into quarters. Used half of 'em to burn the stump last yr, and saved the other half for a second burning this year. That stump was huge, so I couldn't burn it in one swell foop.

Gotta tell ya...pine may be no good for an indoor fireplace, but it makes a great outdoor bonfire.
