no, I am sure the gas cap is causing the light to be on. but if you DONT disconnect the battery, then the system wont reset, and the error will still be there. just fucking do as I say!

I posted this being SURE that ghost was going to replace the gas cap FIRST!

but for those like misko, who cant seem to grasp simple auto mechanics, FIRST disconnect the battery, (cause since I have to explain this, you just may be stupid enough to electrocute yourself with a 12 volt system)
then replace the gas cap, since there is no power to the system, you cant possible blow up! (put your cigarette out first misko)
reconnect the battery, and reset your favorite radio stations, and sset your clock back!

start her up and look for the light

Had an old beater yrs. ago that wouldn't pass smog with the light on..
Did what you said, and drove it around for a few miles to reset everything.
Passed smog, and the damn light came back on as I was driving away.
