I would tell him good luck .. let him go ... everyone else on the team is taking cuts to help get under the cap ... all he is seeing is dollar signs .. thats not a team player thats the first sign of a show boater the steelers arnt about that ..

actually tenuring him is smart we know we cant afford 9 mil .. and if someone offers him big bucks he is gone anyway ... and then they get him cheap and he still dosent make the huge bucks ..thats what you get for not being loyal .. the steelers kinda screwed him then

I don't think there have been many pay cuts a lot of restructuring has taken place, what would be good to see is all the top guys say hey we need him I'll chip in x number of dollars so we can,,,but that isn't going to happen

my thought too ~ so many did so much to restructure their contracts to make 'salary cap' room for him ~ if he goes chasin after the big money, so be it and good riddance

right now from what I read we are about 2,75 mil under the cap,and that does not include the Ward money he has not been officialy cut yet, throw that into the pot and the offer could go to around 7 mil,so this isn't over yet,me I wouldn't go any higher than that
