Mornin Misk, ghost, RnO and Blue!

Nice Fall day here. Sunny but cool. Leaves haven't peaked yet, but some of the trees are already dropping 'em. Looks like I'll be raking this weekend. What a pain, especially since I save 'em, stuff 'em in a composter, and use 'em to fertilize my gardens. A lot of work, but it pays off.

mornin north .. I know raking is not one of my favorite chores .. I have a leaf blower that converts into a vac and chops them into a mulch .. 16 to 1 ratio

I don't chop them. Just stuff 'em in a four-foot cube that I built from 1-by-2 stakes and that green plastic fencing mesh. Add a little water and some of the dogs' land mines, and let it sit over the winter. I turn it over once a month from mid-Spring to mid-Fall, and it breaks down on its own. Last Fall's crop looks like good, black soil now.
